Another year has passed, and the LBBL has crowned its first
season champions after the Queens of the Night defeated
the Orcvilla Steelers by a score of 1-0 after a late game
touchdown put the 2012 season to bed.
The teams have rested up and are preparing for the opening
kickoffs of the new 2013 season starting this April! As such,
I wanted to go over some of the rules changes and recap
what the year holds in store for the Blood Bowl league in 2013.
As of this writing, there are ten Blood Bowl teams fighting for the glory of the world championship of
Louisville in 2013. To participate, one needs only submit their rookie team to the administrator on
Facebook at icedcrow@yahoo.com. The league website is located at http://bloodbowl.chrisnye.net and
contains standings and leaderboards. Please bookmark this site (it is also pinned to the top of the
facebook league group)
Rules Changes for 2013 The only rules change that is forthcoming is the removal of field goals. Scores
become worth 1 point again. The reason for this is that field goals were not actively being used anyway
in the league. We will still be using the Living Blood Bowl tournament edition rules, linked off of the
website.
Scheduling and Events The league season consists of six total zones. There are essentially three major
tournaments through the year and two regular season exhibitions in which coaches can challenge up to
three others for a match. The stipulation is that teams can only play each other ONCE per zone period.
An exhibition zone precedes each major tournament. That means that each team can play a total of 18
matches through the year (three exhibition per zone period, and each tournament being three rounds
each). The winner of each tournament gets an automatic invite to the fourth and final tournament.
There are a total of four playoff slots currently. Any unclaimed slots by the end of the final tournament
will be filled via ranked match (where the highest ranked teams will play one game to fill the remaining
spots)
The major tournaments are as follows:
The WAAC Invitational This bloody tournament kicks off the league in May. During this tournament,
wild and unruly fans can chuck out secret weapons to the players and the referees are reluctant to call
fouls as they are more afraid of the fans than anything! The winner of the WAAC Invitational receives an
invite to the Blood Bowl finals and receives the Golden WAAC Stick (a secret weapon) which they may
use for the rest of the season. In addition, the team will be feared throughout the circuit and receive a
free bribing the referee bonus for the duration of the league.
The Endurance Cup This tournament is held in various parts of the old world in September and
features some of the most harsh climates and pitches known to the game. Here teams fight not only
other teams, but the environment as well. The winner of the Endurance Cup receives an invite to the
Blood Bowl finals and receives the services of an apocathery for free until the next Endurance Cup. This
apocathery is in addition to any bought apocatheries.
The Dungeon Bowl This tournament is held in November within the dungeons of a prestigious wizards
college. It features the rules for Dungeon Bowl. The one rule change that will be implemented in
Dungeon Bowl this year will be that each end zone will have one located within it, though the first time a
ballcarrier enters a teleporter they cannot teleport to the opposing endzone. This rule is being
implemented to prevent teams from just sitting back and camping their endzone and surrounding the
endzone, effectively forcing a stalemate without playing.
The Blood Bowl Finals This is the final tournament which will host four teams vying for the world
championship of Louisville. As of now this will be a round robin tournament set in January of 2014.
The Regular Season zone periods that take place before a tournament will allow coaches to challenge
up to three others for games. Coaches may only play another team one time per zone period. Once a
zone has concluded, unplayed games are lost.

Norse Ninnies (Norse) and Queens of the Damned (Vampires) and the Skull Crushers (Chaos Dwarfs) will
all be taking the field this year in the LBBL as rookie teams. The Queens are coached by last years
league champion Mr. Robert Prince. With two orc teams chomping at the bit for some revenge as well
as an angry Nurgle Rotters team, the Queens may have their hands full this season.
