Louisville Blood Bowl League Season 2013

Another year has passed, and the LBBL has crowned its first
season champions after the Queens of the Night defeated
the Orcvilla Steelers by a score of 1-0 after a late game
touchdown put the 2012 season to bed.
The teams have rested up and are preparing for the opening
kickoffs of the new 2013 season starting this April! As such,
I wanted to go over some of the rules changes and recap
what the year holds in store for the Blood Bowl league in 2013.
As of this writing, there are ten Blood Bowl teams fighting for the glory of the world championship of
Louisville in 2013. To participate, one needs only submit their rookie team to the administrator on
Facebook at icedcrow@yahoo.com. The league website is located at http://bloodbowl.chrisnye.net and
contains standings and leaderboards. Please bookmark this site (it is also pinned to the top of the
facebook league group)
Rules Changes for 2013 The only rules change that is forthcoming is the removal of field goals. Scores
become worth 1 point again. The reason for this is that field goals were not actively being used anyway
in the league. We will still be using the Living Blood Bowl tournament edition rules, linked off of the
website.
Scheduling and Events The league season consists of six total zones. There are essentially three major
tournaments through the year and two regular season exhibitions in which coaches can challenge up to
three others for a match. The stipulation is that teams can only play each other ONCE per zone period.
An exhibition zone precedes each major tournament. That means that each team can play a total of 18
matches through the year (three exhibition per zone period, and each tournament being three rounds
each). The winner of each tournament gets an automatic invite to the fourth and final tournament.
There are a total of four playoff slots currently. Any unclaimed slots by the end of the final tournament
will be filled via ranked match (where the highest ranked teams will play one game to fill the remaining
spots)
The major tournaments are as follows:
The WAAC Invitational This bloody tournament kicks off the league in May. During this tournament,
wild and unruly fans can chuck out secret weapons to the players and the referees are reluctant to call
fouls as they are more afraid of the fans than anything! The winner of the WAAC Invitational receives an
invite to the Blood Bowl finals and receives the Golden WAAC Stick (a secret weapon) which they may
use for the rest of the season. In addition, the team will be feared throughout the circuit and receive a
free bribing the referee bonus for the duration of the league.

The Endurance Cup This tournament is held in various parts of the old world in September and
features some of the most harsh climates and pitches known to the game. Here teams fight not only
other teams, but the environment as well. The winner of the Endurance Cup receives an invite to the
Blood Bowl finals and receives the services of an apocathery for free until the next Endurance Cup. This
apocathery is in addition to any bought apocatheries.
The Dungeon Bowl This tournament is held in November within the dungeons of a prestigious wizards
college. It features the rules for Dungeon Bowl. The one rule change that will be implemented in
Dungeon Bowl this year will be that each end zone will have one located within it, though the first time a
ballcarrier enters a teleporter they cannot teleport to the opposing endzone. This rule is being
implemented to prevent teams from just sitting back and camping their endzone and surrounding the
endzone, effectively forcing a stalemate without playing.
The Blood Bowl Finals This is the final tournament which will host four teams vying for the world
championship of Louisville. As of now this will be a round robin tournament set in January of 2014.
The Regular Season zone periods that take place before a tournament will allow coaches to challenge
up to three others for games. Coaches may only play another team one time per zone period. Once a
zone has concluded, unplayed games are lost.

2013 LBBL Additional Rules and Clarifications

Yards Gained - Each player will have statistics kept track for them in regards to yards passing and
rushing. For every 20 yards passing or 20 yards rushing earned in a season, a player earns 1 SPP. A yard
is a square of forward progress. Lateral movement does not count towards yards gained. Backwards
movement counts as negative yards.
Ex: An orc blitzer with the ball moves forward 5 squares,
laterally one square, and then back one square has earned 4
total yards rushing.
Painting Teams are not required to be painted. However
each player should be numbered in some way. Teams that
are fully painted gain a free team re-roll.
Reporting Scores and Roster Changes When you report your scores to the league, you must include
the overall score and any changes to YOUR roster. This includes injuries, attribute changes, stat
increases and bonus skills. If you do not report your skills and bonuses, they will not be reflected. Each
coach is responsible for their own team. There will be no accepting team adjustments for other teams
by coaches as things often get forgotten.
Important! - When adding new members to your roster you MUST include stats and values. The league
organizer will *not* be looking up roster values for each player. This counts for leveling up players as
well (report the new player value)

Steele Kings Up and Personal

Hello Blood Bowl fans! Steele King reporting from a very busy WAAAGHshington Greenskins training
camp. Coach Niemann "The Demon" has really been living up to his nickname after the upsetting loss to
The Rot Stuff in the play-offs last year after vowing to crush the Queens of the Night in the Blood Bowl
Tourney. The Greenskins have been honing their killing edge by raiding outlying farm villages in the
Reikland area. Nearly the full roster has returned to take the Blood Bowl trophy, including the dynamic
duo of Shakbad Mugshak and Wortgob Morstuff, arguably the best players in the league. Last year they
ran for a combined total of nearly 200 yards, and they managed 8 touchdowns between them. Despite
this, the Greenskins managed a lackluster 3-4-6 record. I asked the two stars about their thoughts from
last season and their plans for their first appearance at the WAAC cup.

Steele King: Thanks for meeting with

me gentleman. A lot of fans picked
the Greenskins as the underdog
favorite to win last years Blood Bowl,
being as you were the only team to
even come close to beating the deadly
Queens of the Night. What happened
in the playoff game against The
Rot Stuff?
Shakbad Mugshak: Oy, dem chaos
boyz iz all fallin ta pieces, makes it
hard ta hold on ta ya lunches.
Wortgob Morstuff: Yeah, I hadz ta stop runnin so I could toss me stomachs a couple o' times. And I
wasn't about ta letz some stupid ants'ez eats me lunches. THAT WAS MY LUNCHES! So I hadz to stop
and stomp all the 'ittle ants'ez. Den next ting I know, deyz winnin'.
SK: Tough break lads. Last year the Greenskins joined mid-season and was unable to attend the WAAC
cup. This will be your first year competing in probably the most dangerous tourney in the competition.
How do you think your team will fare?

SM: Oy weez gonna smash everybodiez. Da stuntiez, da humiez, da chaos boyz. Weez gonna smash
dem good and propa'. Den we takez da chainsaw and stomp more humiez!
SK: With the Queens not returning this year, is their any teams out there that you feel could stop you
from taking home the big trophy this year?
WM: Na. Weez orks. Weez da biggest and da strongest. Weez gonna crush all da teams and win all da
trophiez. Weez gonna kill dem stupid chaos boyz and dem udder orks. Weez da betz.
SK: So wait, are you saying you are going to make a full sweep of the tourneys this year?
SM/WM: WEEZ DA BIGGEST AND DA STRONGEST!
SK: Wow! You heard it here first folks. The Greenskins Captains just promised to bring home all the gold
this year. Let's see if they can live up to it. This is Steele King, signing out.
