Holiday in Bali

Last Sunday my friend and I went to lake Kintamani in Bali. The water was clean, the
temperature was cool and there were trees surrounding the lake.
The next day we visited Tanah lot. We took pictures of the temple. The scenery was amazing.
There was holy water besides the rocky hill and there was a hole occupied by big snake which
was considered sacred by the local people.
On Tuesday, we went to Sangeh where many wild monkeys walked freely and climbed the trees.
In the afternoon we went home.

The Monkey and The Crocodile
One day there was a monkey. He wanted to cross a river. There he saw a crocodile so he asked
the crocodile to take him across the other side of the river. The crocodile agree and told the
monkey to jump on its back. Then the crocodile swam down the river with the monkey on his
top.
Unluckily, the crocodile was very hungry, he stopped in the middle of the river and said to the
monkey, My father is very sick. He has to eat the heart of the monkey. So he will be healthy
again.
At the time, the monkey was in dangerous situation and he had to think hard. Then he had a good
idea. He told the crocodile to swim back to the river bank. Whats for? asked the crocodile.
Because I dont bring my heart, said the monkey. I left it under a tree, near some coconuts in
the river bank.
The crocodile agreed and turned around. He swam back to the bank of the river. As soon as they
reached the river bank, the monkey jumped off the crocodiles back. Then he climbed up to the

top of a tree.
Where is your heart? asked the crocodile. You are foolish, said the monkey to the crocodile.
Now I am free and I have my heart.
The Good Stepmother
The old witch locked Hansel in a cage and asked Gretel to clean the house. She planned to eat
them both. Each night the children cried and begged the witch to let them go.
Meanwhile , at home, their stepmother was beginning to wish she had never tried to get rid of the
children. I must find them, she said and went to the forest
Many hours later, when her feet were tired form walking and her lips were dry for thrist, she
came to the cottage which belonging to the witch. The stepmother peeped through the window.
Her heart cried out when she saw the two children.
She picked up the broom leaning against the door and crept inside. The witch was putting some
stew in the oven when the stepmother pushed her into the oven. The witch fell into the oven and
the stepmother shut the door.
children, I have come to save you, she said, hugging them tightly. I have done a dreadful
thing. I hope in time you will forgive me. Let me take you home and we become family again.
They then returned to their home and the stepmother become the best mother anyone could wish
to have and of course they lived happily ever after .

X Factor Indonesia
I really like music. I listen to all kinds of music every day. Not only from Indonesia but also from
all around the world. For me, music can give me spirit in doing my daily activity. Music also can
be used to study English when I listen to English song. Last week, when I watched TV, I saw a
good music program. It was called X factor Indonesia. I think the program is interesting because
it showed us the talented boys and girls from Indonesia who have amazing voices. But its not all
about the voice. Some of the contestants dont have good voice but they just continue singing
with high confidence. For example nezu, a waiter from medan, who sing agnes monicas song
tak ada logika. Maybe his voice is not good but he dances amazingly which give entertainment
to all the viewers all across Indonesia.
