CONGRATULATIONS TO
LTC Mike Thomas on assuming command of the
99th Pursuit Composite Squadron and was announced at the 2009 Wing Conference.
LTC Charles Lane, whom charted the unit in
August 1990 and a former Tuskegee Airman,
has been named to the position of Commander
Emeritus.

SLS/CLC COURSES are scheduled


for 30 May at Camp Ashland. We
need an instructor for the SLS. If

CORNER
The National Aerospace Educations Officers
School will be held at Pensacola Naval Air Station in the Florida panhandle on June 23-27.
Additional dates are July 16-18 in McMinnville,

NEBRASKA WING CONFERENCE 2009


This years Wing Conference was held at the Holiday Inn Omaha Convention Center where our
National Commander, Brig. Gen. Amy Courter; National Headquarters Staff Representative, Mr.
Jim Tynan; NCR Commander, Col. Steve Kuddes and his wife Barb; NCLR Commander, LTC Mike
Pederson, Adjutant General Commander, Maj. Gen. Timothy Kadavy; Nebraska State Director,
Mr. Otto Wachholtz; 66 Seniors and 42 Cadets of the Nebraska Wing Members, and 12 Guests
were in attendance. The 2010 Wing Conference is scheduled for 26-28 March at the Hyatt Regency in Omaha, NE. A big Hearty CONGRATULATIONS to all honorees and a list of the
awards is attached to this bulletin. ColonelTodd will be contacting the unit commanders to make
arrangements to get the awards out to the members for presentation who were not there.
Civil Air Patrol Squadrons are invited to take part
in the Lincoln Mayors Fun Run, 2 May and
Marathon, 3 May. CAP partners with the NE
National Guard to provide support and security
during these events. This is a terrific opportunity
for CAP and your cadets/seniors to get positive
exposure with the general public. Uniform is
BDUs. Details will be forthcoming or contact
Lt. Soni Cochran at scochran2@unl.edu or
402-441-6745. Usually begins early, 07000800 and over by 1200. The Lincoln Track Club
gives out free t-shirts to helpers.

here in Fargo and the rest of the Red River Valley, with all

There is a new forecast out that looks like we will have a
crest similar to the first one (or maybe greater) sometime late
next week or beyond depending on the actual rate of snow
melt and how cold it gets in the evenings.

Being offered 26-28 June 2009 @ Camp Ashland.
Three partial scholarships are being offered in each
wing. Take this unique opportunity for PAOs to train,
network and grow. This scholarship will help cover the
registration fee (program material, breaks and graduation luncheon) and one nights lodging will be paid for,
nearly a $50 value.

This year NE Wing Conference will be
on Friday, 17 Apr - Sunday 19 Apr. It
will be at the Holiday Inn on 72nd St in
Omaha. This is the same Holiday Inn
that has Coco Key Island resort. The
Wing Director of AE will be there with
free gifts and resource materials for

duties and to learn the position. Anyone

WIMRS includes:

Gallons used
Cost of fuel
JRAFROTC also needs names of Cadets
**Everything must be entered in WMIRS after
every flight, this is to spread the work around
so one person does not get overloaded.

NEW TRAINING REQUIREMENT FOR ALL PILOTS:


Aircraft Ground Handling is another recently new
online course that should be available (with the bugs
corrected from National HQ) 6 April. When you complete the course, send an email to Capt. Fred Meier
(newgpilots@windstream.net) with your course
certificate number and completion date for him to
record in your pilot file at wing headquarters.
AE News: The first quarter (Jan-Mar) is now over.
Please fill out your quarterly report and send it to
Wing Headquarters. The Aerospace Education staff
appreciates your timely manner is getting these
reports to wing. We want to know what your unit
members are participating in!
