Purpose
The purpose of this page is to clarify the understanding of the system logic and
requirements in relation to transportation relevance for delivery types, delivery item
categories, and routes.
Overview
The transportation relevance in documents can be widely automated and created based on
rules. Shipments do not need to be planned for all business transactions. This is
controlled using transportation relevance, which is explained in this wiki.
Transportation Relevance
Preconditions
Delivery types and routes must already be defined. You specify the transportation
relevance for delivery types, delivery item categories and routes.
The shipment blocking reason specifies whether a delivery is blocked for transporation
processing. If you set the delivery type correspondingly, the shipment blocking reason
can be proposed automatically.
You can specify whether a transportation planning index should be created. You can also
specify for each route whether a transportation planning index should be created.
Delivery types and delivery item categories for which transportation processing is to be
carried out must be characterized as relevant for transportation. All routes that are to be
used for the shipment must also be set as relevant for transportation (except inbound
deliveries).
Item Category is transportation Relevant
Delivery type is transportation Relevant
Route used is transportation Relevant.
If ANY 2 of the 3 above are true for your delivery then the delivery flag set to 'A'.
If you maintain the 3 conditions (or two in case of inbound deliveries) is set to "A".
There is only a check for the item category relevancy on the creation of the shipment
itself.
How to set Transportation Relevance
The delivery type, delivery item category and the route in the delivery use transportation
relevance to control whether a shipment can be created or not.
