Delivery Science Limited

We are Delivery Science Limited (DS), a software development enterprise. DS is rooted in


a vision of developing solutions to the logistic and data challenges of business operations
within a low trust economy like Nigeria. DS was set up in July 2014 by its founders with a
team of veteran software engineers that are knowledgeable and flexible enough to respond
expeditiously to the variety of challenges our clients face in their business environments.
Consequently we have developed a handful of software solutions - Proof of Delivery (POD),
Transport Manager, & Inventory Manager - that deal with industry challenges in general,
but also we continue to add to our portfolio of bespoke solutions dealing with more specific
challenges for companies.
We have offered our services to have processed millions of transactions for the likes of
GTBank, Wema Bank, MTN, Etisalat etc. DS is still a small enterprise, our company
structure comprises of development, sales and marketing teams; in total we number about
15.

Our People
Lanre Oyedotun - Cofounder & CEO
Lanre Oyedotun was the former CEO of Chronos, a venture development and technology
consultancy, and CTO of payment startup, iThena Logic. iThena's main product is a mobile
phone airtime vending platform called Topup Genie (www.topupgenie.com). Before that,
he was a technology consultant & auditor for PwC for several years, first in Boston, MA
then Lagos, Nigeria.
Chuka Ofili - Cofounder & Chief Architect
Former Lead Software Architect for MicroSmart Solutions. Chuka developed and
implemented a SaaS value-added service for MTN and Etisalat (two of Nigeria's biggest
Mobile Network Operators) performing transformations on tens of millions of phone
records.
Ezra Olubi - CTO/VP Engineering
Former CTO of Jobberman.com, West Africa's biggest jobs site. Ezra led scaling efforts for
Jobberman when they moved from their initial server stack to cloud-based architecture
that could reliably handle their transaction loads of tens of millions of transactions daily.
He ensured that Jobberman had high-availability and uptime (99.9% uptime) for their

applications and led rewrites of problematic sections of the code base that had been
written prior to Jobberman hitting Internet scale.
Toyin Oshinowo - VP Growth & Data Science
Computer Systems Engineering Ph.D. and former CIO of Hedonmark Group, a prominent
in technology consultancy. Toyin ran Online Infrastructure Management at GTBank. Prior
to her move to Delivery Science she was an advisor to the company working with our data
science and product teams to implement solutions that marry business insight with
technical execution. Toyin was also the Project lead on the Nigerian Stock Exchange
Redesign in 2011.

Our Merits
DS is a small enterprise doing cutting edge work in Nigeria. We are pioneers in our field,
and are tackling challenges that are of primary importance to Enterprises in Nigeria.
In Nigeria, as well as in many other low-trust economies, some of the biggest challenges
businesses face come via their logistics and supply side processes. Many large enterprises
suffer sizeable losses as a result of their inability to main sufficient oversight over these
processes. What DS does is to identify such blind spots and the consequent loss they
realise and deliver control of these blind spots back into the hands of the Enterprise.
Our solutions are innovative and sophisticated pieces of technology designed by our
veteran team of developers. Most of our solutions are built and adapted for purpose. As
such, our solutions are designed to maximise ease of implementation i.e. not only is it our
policy to ensure that our solutions are as intuitive and easy to use/learn, but also that they
can fit easily into the pre-existing technological framework that our clients might already
have invested in.

accolades and generated a sizeable amount of local and international press attention.

In low-trust economies like Nigeria, the movement of goods from one point to another is
plagued with logistic challenges. These challenges are of primary importance to large
organisations who suffer the most losses as a result. These large organisations range from
Fast Moving Consumer Good Companies, to service sector companies to agencies of
government. The difficulties result first from a lack of control and oversight over supply
chain processes, and next from a lack of accountability with field operators.
Delivery Science has tackled these issues, and has developed solutions designed to tackle

Proof of Delivery

POD gives enterprises real-time access to the location of their goods, and the activities of
their field operators. POD works using GPS via an Android phone, so no special hardware
is required.
Managers are given visibility of their cars at all times including their real time location,
applicable schedules, the staff involved in handling etc. In addition, the product comes
with a data gathering and compilation function which equips businesses with retrospective
insight into the trends that emerge from their business processes over time.
The result is that enterprises are able to significantly reduce losses arising out of leakage,
unaccountable handling of goods and inefficient allocation of resources.

Disco Manager

Disco Manager is another product from Delivery Science. The objective of this application
is to provide Disco providers with the ability to view live - in the field information
regarding electricity distribution within their regions.
The application gives Managers to ability to monitor agents, customers, assets from a
central dashboard thereby saving money, time and effort required to gather this
information.

The application also gives Managers insight into how efficient their

operations are.
The result of this application is that DISCOs are able to identify weak points in operations,
loss of revenue, and inefficient allocation of resources.

Transport Manager

Transport Manager is our logistics tracking solution. This solution assists enterprises who
already utilise a GPS tracking solution in addition to a ERP solution that issues Way Bills
to third party logistics firms.
Transport Manager works as an automated system of recording and validating, way bills
issued by enterprise companies.
This solution provides the following features;

Improved turnaround times for validation and reconciliation

Health Management System

Health Manager System Pro is our Public Health Management solution. The application
was built in response to the Ebola epidemic and slow response times from the
Governments of the affected West African countries.
HMS Pro works as an automated system of recording and managing cases, locations, and
resource allocation in times of public health emergencies.
Using HMS Pro, the relevant users would be able - in real time - to gather information
about their field staff within their mobile quarantine centres, in various geographic
locations, in addition to their public hospitals and warehouses on the magnitude of the
crisis. From this they would be able to access the resources at their disposal, and the
resources needed.

Automated Stocktaking Application

Inventory management processes in Nigeria are heavily manual. Many enterprises operate
systems that are not secure, disorganised and time consuming. The result is that many
enterprises exhaust a lot of resources in long and tedious processes of stock and inventory
management that may or may not continue to leave room for theft of stock and other
avenues for losses.
ASA is a subset of our proposed Inventory Manager solution. ASA ensures that every item
that enters or leaves the stockroom is recorded as well as the staff involved in the process.
This way, a reliable and accurate account of inventory is always maintained.

Other Applications
Payroll Plus

Enterprises in Nigeria still rely on manual or semiautomatic means of handling their staff
payments and compensations. For example, many firms still employ an individual to
manually process payments, benefits, deductions, taxes, pensions etc for all their staff.
Payroll Plus was developed to fix this problem.
Payroll Plus is a high utility platform developed for employers to manage all employee
compensation functions. It works as a simple and secure web based platform on which
enterprises can register all their employees and micro- manage their compensation as well
as their statutory obligations (like taxes and pension schemes). Employers can register
employees or invite them to register themselves.

SME Genius

In Nigeria, the process of lending to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) is
tedious and involves several levels of interfacing between financial institutions and the
prospective borrowers. As such, there is an impetus for institutions to invest resources in
researching and verifying the creditworthiness of all applicants, and this process is costly
and inefficient. In response to this unique problem, DS developed SME Genius.
SME Genius is an web or android application that is utilised by prospective borrowers to
record their financial activities for a period specified by a financial institution. The
information gathered is at the disposal of the bank in general and the agent in charge of the
applicants account. The banks can use the app to infer and conclude on whether an SME is
creditworthy, without needing to spend money on tedious information gathering ventures.
In addition, the SME applicant is given tips and aided in getting an appointment with the
bank. All the relevant requirements are listed and at the disposal of the loan seeker.
