Traffic Information Systems - Study

MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS
Description of the situation before the project implementation:

In Romania there is no centralized information regarding the traffic and roads infrastructure status.
Different information exists at different Infrastructure Administrators or Authorities, but there is no system
gathering all the relevant information from one area and presenting it to the public.
Traffic Police have information regarding all the accidents and incidents on the motorways and national
roads and also inside cities. The information is gathered in a Traffic Info Centre and is presented to the
public in news bulletins on local radio stations and TV stations.
