Transportation and travel
Goal. This project measures the ability to support, talk and use the vocabulary in a correct
way. Besides giving the opinions and conclusions being analyzed in its respective field.
Public transportation.
Definition is a shared passenger transport service which is available for use by the
general public, as distinct from modes such as taxicab, carpooling or hired buses which are
not shared by strangers without private arrangement.
Public transport modes include city buses, trolleybuses, trams (or light rail) and passenger
trains, rapid transit (metro/subways/undergrounds etc.) and ferries. Public transport between
cities is dominated by airlines, coaches, and intercity rail. High-speed rail networks are being
developed in many parts of the world.
Most public transport runs to a scheduled timetable with the most frequent services running
to headway (e.g.: "every 5 minutes" as opposed to being scheduled for any specific time of
the day). Share taxis offer on-demand services in many parts of the world and some services
will wait until the vehicle is full before it starts. Paratransit is sometimes used in areas of lowdemand and for people who need a door-to-door service.
Public transport services can be profit-driven by use of pay-by-the-distance fares or funded
by government subsidies in which flat rate fares are charged to each passenger. Services
can be fully profitable through high ridership numbers and high farebox recovery ratios, or
can be regulated and possibly subsidized from local or national tax revenue.
What kind of transportation is there in your city?
There are a range of different types of transport available to us; the type we choose to use
will depend on the purpose for travelling, length of the journey and anyone you may be
travelling with. Increasingly cost is becoming a deciding factor in the types of transport we
use, especially due to the increase in fuel costs we all wish to avoid.
Cars, trains, planes, subways, trams, boats, bicycles, and others
Future transportation
Flying cars, Maglev trains, hydrogen fuel cells,
Direction.
1. choose your city to develop the project
2. Describe the kind of transportation in your city
3. Advantages and disadvantages
4. Projects for the future. Describing the new mode of transportation or the newest type
which is being developed or being addressed in the next 10 years.
A. support the following items
When the time rush hour starts
Talk about the traffic jam
What the speed limit cars have in your city
There are traffic radars everywhere (specific places and why they were put on)
There are bike lines and pedestrian areas (specify the places)
Parking lots and locations
Motorcyclist and cyclist wear helmets (rules)

Big trucks are permitted to run through downtown?

B. point of view
Give your opinion about which of these things is most dangerous and say if they deserve to
be punished. How much each offense or infraction costs? Or it deserves to revoke drivers
license for committing serious offenses.
Speed limit permitted.
Making calls on the cell phone
Listening music loudly
Driving drunk
Minimum age for driving cars and motorcycles.
How transportation has affected the planet and which could be the solution in case youd
find it.
C. Instructions
1. You can work in group or individually (the score is individually)
2. Design some slides to show the project
3. Wish you could choose different cities where the transportation had any problem.

THE PROJECT.
The city chosen, is imaginary. It has the characteristics of a slow city.
The type of transport in the city, has had many advances in the last 20 years, as has
implemented a strong policy to remove oil combustion vehicles; allowing the arrival of
environmentally friendly vehicles, which are powered by electricity, compressed air, etc.
- For personal use: bicycles. the constant use of the bike is encouraged. Must in all public
parking places where you can access a bike and in turn leave insured while an activity is
performed.
Motorcycles. Its engine is electric, has a dedicated lane and can be used throughout the
city.
Small vehicles: the engine is electric. It is often used by people with physical disabilities.
2- For business use:-electric freight and mail trucks. They can only access the city center and
the main roads at certain times.
3.For public use electric buses. Each has 40 seats and these vehicles are distributed
according to the different routes residential area. The buses do not have access to the
central area of the city and have a dedicated lane on all tracks.
Advantages: It offers the city a constant mobility.
Allows users of public transport system, having a transport that is commensurate with their
mobility needs.
Disadvantages: Failure to have a system that aside from supplying the city, also offers a
service that addresses other cities in the region.
Future Projects: Straddling Bus A project that promises to improve the mobility of the city, as
these vehicles offer the service of transporting people and in turn, its design allows private
cars circulate below the Straddling Bus..
Vehicles autonomous status: these vehicles have latest technology, equipped with radar,
cameras and laser. This allows the car to run standard actions, such as maneuver a curve,
slow down and park.
Intermodal transport systems: this new development will make it easier for citizens to have a
vehicle for all your daily activities and for all driving conditions.

Hyperllop: this means of transport of the future, try to solve the problem of connecting the
city with other more remote areas, since it is a transportation system that quickly take a
person from one city to another.

Transporte pblico.
areas, entrenadores y ferrocarril interurbano.

encontrarlo.
