For the second time in two weeks, a former Lakewood police officer was arrested and accused of a heroin-related charge.
Matthew Moore, 32, was arrested within the past
week as part of operation Broken Rule, a crackdown
on heroin distribution by the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, according to spokesman Al Della Fave.
Moore is accused of conspiracy to possess, with the intent to distribute, more than five ounces of heroin, according to a release from the Prosecutors Office. His
bail was set at $75,000 with no 10 percent option.
Della Fave confirmed this is the same former cop
who was arrested May 17.
That day, a Lakewood officer reported she found
Moore preparing to ingest heroin in the parking lot of a
KFC, according to Lakewood Detective Sgt. Greg Staffordsmith. Moore was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
brought to headquarters where he was processed and

The sounds: a rapid-fire symphony

feet is punctuated by the occasional

The sights: A faded portrait of a

TRENTON Gov. Chris Christie says he wants to bring casino gambling to North
Jersey, a project that could provide a lifeline for Monmouth Park even if the landmark Oceanport racetrack isnt selected to add blackjack tables and slot machines to
its win-place-show bets.
Hard Rock International says it will roll out plans for a casino at the Meadowlands
next week, with projections of $500 million in tax revenue for New Jersey, and venture capitalist Paul Fireman has sketched out a $4.6 billion Jersey City casino development.
Key state lawmakers say they envision a piece of the action from a new upstate
casino being set aside to help sustain the struggling horse racing industry at Monmouth Park and nearby Freehold Raceway, as well as the Meadowlands, which has
the states third racetrack.
