BILINGUALISM PROGRAM

ADJECTIVES

They are words used to describe, identify or modify nouns. Remember that a noun is all
we can see or cant see or we can feel. Adjectives can be placed before or after the
noun like this:
This is a big house.

This is an angry man.

This house is big.

This man is angry.

That is a delicious chicken.

That is an old car.

That chicken is delicious.

That car is old.

Note 1. Adjectives cant be pluralized.


Note 2. Adjectives have opposites.
Exercise 1. Match the opposite adjectives with a line.

COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES
To use Comparative Adjectives in English is necessary to determine if the adjective is
short, longor irregular.
1. Short Adjectives : Just complete the basic adjective with ER.

SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES
To use Superlative Adjectives in English is necessary to determine if the adjective is
short, longor irregular as well as with Comparative Adjectives.
1. Short Adjectives : Just complete the basic adjective with EST.
