Only use the power supply according to the label. You may choose either AC 110V or 220V for different
countries and regions.
Connect all the equipment to a properly grounded socket. Avoid the socket in the same circuit with
copy machine or air conditioner.
Avoid to using the socket controlled by the wall switch or by auto timer.
Please keep Printer away from the latent source of electromagnetic disturbance.
For example,
If you use additional cable, please make sure that total amperage of the equipment connecting with
cable shall not exceed the amperage of the power supply. Moreover, the amperage of all equipment
connecting with wall socket does not exceed the amperage of the wall socket.
Shut off the power and ask experienced technician for help, if the following situations occur:
Power cable or plug is damaged.

Usage and Maintains of print head
5.1 Usage of Xaar Printer
1Flush humectants out of print head
To moisturize print head, lots of humectants are injected into the head before it is used. The
humectants must be flushed out for the first using. Before fix the head on the print head frame, do the
steps as follows: Joint a filter on the In-tube of the head, and then joint an injector--which fills with
flush solution--on the filter. Inject 10-20 ml flush solution to the head to eject the humectants inside.
Then fill the head with flush solution to dissolve the humectants completely within 5-10 minutes. Finally,
flush the head with about 30ml flush solution to eliminate the humectants completely.
Make sure to operate on a stable and clean platform.
Cautions:
1. Clean platform for convenient operation;
2. Dont touch the surface of head and socket with hand;
3. Clean the filter with flush solution;
4. Connect a tube on the exit of the head to prevent ink flowing into the socket;
5. Dont touch the surface of head with other objects;
6. Be careful to distinguish In tube and Out tube of the head;
7. Eject flush solution from the nozzles with strength no more than 0.3 kg. (It is better to hold the
injector with single hand and push it with the same thumb.)
on the head surface. The ink on the surface will stream into the nozzles because of
negative pressure.
Notes:
Never scrub the head surface when head surface is dry, for that will orient air into the
nozzles and shape bubbles in the pipelines and affect the printing quality.
15
4Test printing
Design some color blocks as 20x20cm with some image operating software, and set color luminance as
100%, 50% and 10%. Print the color blocks under test mode and check the print result. If the print
result is normal which means no ink-break and no ink spots on the mediums, the printer can work
normally.

ensures the vertical alignment in the printing: see the figure as below:
The calibration
There should be two same drawing after the printing test. According to the difference of the mechanical
status, the two calibration values might be different. In the drawing which was printed from left to right, check the
number underneath the lines, for example K1 and K2, which are exactly aligned. This number would be the
calibration value for the K1 and K2 alignment. Add this value to the value in the box at the left side (see the figure
-
29
below). For example, the calibration value is 4, and the value in the box is 284, so you need to enter 288
(284+4=288) for the calibration. And add the value of the drawing printed from right to left, to the box at the right
side. The calibration method for other color (C,M,Y) and other print heads (2-3, 3-4) is same.
1-3-12
11
Auto Adjust by 180DPI
Under this function, the calibration value of 360dpi or 720dpi would be automatically made from the
parameters in the 180dpi calibration mode. The value should close to the parameter of the best printing result,
but different mechanical status might need different small calibrations.
12
Save Param
Save Param need to be clicked after the settings to activate, otherwise the previous parameter would be
used while printing.
13
Reset Param
When the confusion of the settings is occurred, to click use Reset Param to return the previous saved
settings.

The purpose of this calibration is to put the different color on the same position, so to print the perfect image. See
the figure below (according different colors for 4 color and 6 color printer, the alignment are KC, CM, MY, YLc,
LcLm)
1-3-14
There should be two same drawing after the printing test. According the difference of the mechanical status, the
two calibration value might be different. In the drawing which was printed from left to right, check the number
underneath the lines which are exactly aligned. This number would be the calibration value. Add this value to the
value in the box at the left side. And add the value of the drawing printed from right to left to the box at the right
side. Then save the parameter.
14) Auto Adjust by 180DPI
Under this function, the calibration value of 360dpi or 720dpi would be automatically made from the parameters

in the 180dpi calibration mode. The value should close to the parameter of the best printing result, but different
mechanical status might need different small calibrations.
15) Save Param
Save Param need to be clicked after the settings to activate, otherwise the previous parameter would be used
while printing.
16) Reset Param
When the confusion of the settings is occurred, to click use Reset Param to return the previous saved settings.
1-3-15
Double Direct Adjust would ensure to print a perfect image from both directions at the different speed. When
the speed setting is changed, the calibration is required to print best result. When the printer stays at the same
speed, the calibration might be needed regularly according the mechanical status.
1-3-16
-
32
1-3-17
Vert Motor Adjust is very important in printing an image. A precise calibration ensures to print the exactly size of
the image designed by the user and the quality of the image. But because of the different working status and duty
time of the print heads, the thin lines fired by jet orifices might be deflected, so the calibration would not be
perfectly correct. After the setting, the user should make some more small calibrations by checking the practical
printing result.
There should be two same drawing printed. According the difference of the mechanical status, the two calibration
value might be different. Check the number corresponding with the lines which are exactly aligned. This number
would be the calibration value. Add this value to the value in the box. The unit of the parameter is DPI
