Switch on the instrument

Switch on the PC and wait until the IPU log-in window opens.
Log in with user name and password
Press the small green button on the instruments main unit.
Click OK
Self check and background check are performed. (This takes about 10
minutes)
6. If the checks are ok, then perform QC.
Perform a QC Measurement

From the main menu, click Manual.


Click OK
Select/Click on the requested QC file in the displayed list.
Click OK
Mix the QC material thoroughly and gently, about 20 times by inversion. Fill
approximately 20 drops into a tube and set it under the aspiration pipette.
6. Press the big green button (start button) on the instruments main unit.
7. The QC is analysed and the data shown on the IPU where you can accept.
Perform a Sample Measurement in Sampler Mode
1. Click Sampler icon.
2. Enter the sample ID tube position in the rack in which the sampler
measurement will start.
3. Set the rack on the correct rack pool.
4. Click Sampler Start button in the Sampler No. dialogue box and analysis will
begin.
Perform a Sample Measurement using Manual Mode

Click Manual icon.


Enter the sample ID.
Select the analysis profile.
Enter, if desired further sample information.
Enter, if available the patient ID.
Manually mix the sample, open the tube and set it under the aspiration
pipette.
7. Press the big green button (start button)
Wake-Up the Instrument
When the analyser is not in use for more than 15 minutes, it will automatically go
into sleep mode.
To activate the instrument, press the big green button/start button on the main unit.
Manually Enter QC Information

From main menu click QC Files


Select a file you wish to use for storing the QC data.
Click Edit
A window is displayed in which the QC information, targets and limits can be
entered.
Select the level in the Material drop down menu.
Enter the lot number in the lot no. QC box.
Enter the expiry date by clicking onto belonging to the Exp. Day field. Go
to the day in the displayed calendar which is the same as the noted expiry
date on the assay sheet of your QC.
Select the first line and start to enter target and limit for each parameter.
Confirm each entered value with the Enter key.
Click OK to close the window.

Replacement of Reagents
An alarm is triggered if reagents are running empty. In addition, the level in the
reagents packages can be monitored at the bottom of the IPU screen.
1. Click Reagent Replacement.
2. Select the tab of the respective reagent.
3. Manually fill in or enter the reagent information which can be read from the
reagent packages.

Shutdown
It is recommended to perform shutdown at least once a day.
The sequence should be Main unit shut down IPU shut down OS shut down
(turn IPU power off) turn the printer power off.
Main Unit shutdown
1. Click the Shutdown icon.

2. Select the Yes from main Unit Power OFF within the shutdown dialog box.
3. Press manual analysis start switch.
4. After the shutdown sequence is completed, turn off the Main Unit switch.
IPU shut down
1. Select File (F) Exit (E) from the menu bar.
2. Click OK button.
OS shut down
1. Click the START icon on the lower left corner of the computer screen.
2. Click Shut Down icon.
3. When the box is displaying Shut Down, click OK.
