but not politics. Find
(i)

The number of students who have taken both Economics and Politics.

(ii)

The number of students who have taken Politics but not Economics

3. (a) If f(x)=2x2 -5x+4,find the values of x for which 2 f(x)= f(2x)

6. (a) The cost of manufacturing a commodity consists of Tk 3400 fixed and Tk. 17 per unit
variable cost. If the selling price of the commodity is Tk 34 per unit and the unit is determined by

8. (a) Total salary of A and B is equal. If A gets 65% allowance of his basic salary and B gets
80% of his basic salary. What is the basic salary of A if the basic salary of B is Tk 1100 6
(b) If A and B are two sets then, Prove B-A=A-B

9. (a) You have a plan to buy a car after 6years from now. Then the price of the car will be Tk 4
lacs. You want to accumulate this money in a bank account by monthly installments which give
you 12% interest. What is your monthly installment?

10. (a) The cost function of a firm is C=300x-10x2+1/3x3,where C is the cost and x is the output.
Find-out(i) at what output the marginal cost would be minimum

(iii) at what output the average cost would be equal to marginal cost
(b) Find the maximum and minimum values of the function y=x3-2x2-4x-1

13. (a) A toy company operates on a profit function p(x)=0.33x is total sales and estimates other
variable cost $0.13 per dollar of sales .Fixed expenses is estimated at $ 4000
