Intro:
To God be the Glory!!! After Pentecost Sunday the sending and
the giving of the Holy Spirit, comes the Trinity Sunday the
enforcement of the Holy Ghost to His Church now it is the
Body of Christ who does the work and ministry of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
God is telling us as His Church, He challenges us to a faith
that will change circumstances, change our nation and
eventually the world. But as you looked at the world now, there
is chaos (gubot). Its not just in our nation that there is killing left
and right but around the world.
Question? Why is the world is in a condition is in right
now? The Church failed its duty to be a witness. You know
Church we play a big role in sharing the Good News to your
neighbor which starts with that.

As our theme says: Steadfast As Christs Body. We need to

show and declare that we are Gods representatives for them to
come to the knowledge of God and be part of the Christs Body
the Church of God- Corpus Christi.
Ezekiel 37:1-10
Here we see in our first reading, the new life and a nation
restored both physically and spiritually. The dry bones are a
picture of (mga oga nga bukog) the Jews in captivity- scattered
dead. The scattered exiles of both Israel and Judah would be
release from the Graves of exile and one day re-gathered in their
homeland, with the Messiah (Jesus) as their leader.
Ezekiel felt he was speaking to the dead as he preached to
the exiles because the rarely (panagsa ra musunod)
responded of follow to his message. But these bones
responded!!!
God brought life to the dead bones, He would bring life again to
His spiritually dead people. (Mga patay sa Espirituhanon nga
butang)
The dry bones represented the peoples spiritually dead
condition. Your Church may seem to have a condition like dry
bones, spiritually dead with no hope at all. But as God promised
to restore His nation, today He can restore any Church no
matter how dry and dead it may be.
Rather than give up, pray for renewal, ask God to restore your
life (be born again- as what we learned last week)
The hope and prayer of every Church- the Body of Christ should
be that God will put His Spirit upon them bringing new life
into dead churches.
1 Corinthians 12:12-27

Our second reading speaks of Body of Christ compares to a

human body. Each part has a specific function that is necessary to
the body as a whole. (Matag usa kanato nay gibuhaton nga
bahin sa kina tibuk-an lawas ni Kristo o simbahan).
The parts are different for a purpose, and in their differences they
must work together. (Isig usa sa ato lain-lain ta ug katuyuan
ug naa tay lain2x batasan og diperensya pero mag kahiusa ta sa trabaho alang kang Kristo).
Christians must avoid these two common errors (duha kasayop)
1)Being proud of their abilities (ex. Singing)
2)Thinking they have nothing to give to the Body of
Believers (Ex. No Talent) instead of comparing ourselves to
one another, we should use our different abilities, gift and
talents together. To spread the Good News of Salvation. I
dont believe each one of us has no talent.
The church is composed of many types of people from a variety
of backgrounds with a multitude of gifts and abilities.
It is easy for these differences to divide people and the start of a
quarrel and misunderstanding.
But despite the differences, all believers have one in
common- faith in Christ.
On this reality, all believers are baptized by one Holy Spirit into
one Body of believers- the Church. We dont lose our
individual identities. But we have an overriding oneness in
Christ.
When we become a Christian, the Holy Spirit is with us and
we are born into Gods family. We all share the same
Spirit which means that each of us has received the same
Holy Spirit.

As Gods family we may have different interest and gifts, but we

are united by the Spirit into one spiritual body.
The Holy Gospel John 4:5-7a; 19-26
Todays Gospel is more focus of Jesus sharing the Good News
to a Samaritan woman and making her a messenger of
Gods Word to the world symbolizing the Church the
Body of Christ.
In v.4
We see Jesus had no choice except to go through the territory
of Judea to Galilee which meant he had to pass Samaria. Most
Jews did everything they could just to avoid travelling through
Samaria. Their reason goes way back into their history.
Jesus knows these things but there is a purpose why He
should pass this way. There are times we chose our
pathway in life instead of choosing Gods way of life. We
just do our way in order we cannot have the way Christ has
planned and intended for us.
In v.5-7
Here we see now the purpose why Jesus passed through this
way for Him to meet this Samaritan woman. The woman came
at noon, however, probably to avoid meeting people who knew
her reputation as well as Jews doesnt interact with
Samaritans.
But Jesus gave this woman an extraordinary message of the
Good News of the Gospel fresh and pure water that would
quench her spiritual thirst forever.
At this point Jesus was to minister to her, for He knew the life of
this Samaritan woman.
In v.19-24

The woman discovered that Jesus now knew all about her
private life. She quickly changed the topic as seen in v.20
Our fathers worshipped
(Read)
Often people become uncomfortable when the
conversation begins to touch their personal lives. We or
they begin to be defensive and wants to stop the sharing. When
we encounter this kind of situation you pray and ask God, His
Spirit to give wisdom how to handle the situation thenspeak in tongues silently
These passages are showing us to that this woman is:
No 1) A Samaritan woman- Samaritan had no business talking
to a Jew
No 2) A known person to be living in sin.
No 3) No Jewish man would talk to a woman under such
circumstances.
You know what? Against all odds- Jesus did.
The Good News is for every person, no matter what or
who he or she is. Thats why it is called Good News it is
for all.
We must be always ready to share this Good News at any
time and in any place. Jesus crossed all barriers (walay pili
ang Ginoo kinsa iyang ika atubang) to share the Good
News of the Gospel and likewise we should follow Him.
As we witness, we should gently guide the sharing back to
Christ. His presence exposes sin and makes people
uncomfortable. We bring Christ to them so sins will be
forgiven and they will have a new life with Jesus.

This woman talked about a popular theological issue- the correct

place to worship. But her question was a camouflage or a
smoke screen (cover) to keep Jesus away from her
deepest need. Her Salvation.
Jesus directed the conversation to a much more important
aspect or detail: the location of worship is not as important as
the attitude of the believers.
In v.22
When Jesus said, Salvation comes through the Jews He
meant that only through the Jewish Messiah would the
whole world find salvation. Not that only the Jews will be
saved.
God promised that through the Jewish race the whole earth
would be blessed (Gen 12:3)
The Old Testament prophets had called the Jews to be a light to
the other nations of the world, bringing them to a knowledge of
God. These Samaritan woman may have known the Scriptures
and was expecting the Messiah not realizing she was talking to
Him.
Today we might be looking where is Salvation, the way to
eternal life but it is just right in our midst, His Word; His
Church.

In v.24-26
God is Spirit means He is not limited to one place. He is not
a physical being that can be seen in our physical eyes. His
presence is everywhere, and can be worshipped
anywhere at any time. We worship Him in Spirit and in
Truth. Spirit- His presence is felt anywhere and truth- His

Word is the truth- the Holy Bible. Its not where we worship that
counts, but how we worship. We can worship Him personally
and corporately. We worship Him in Spirit and in truth
personally, and worship Him corporately through the Body
of Christ- Corpus Christi.
Challenge:
As we celebrate this Sunday; the Feast of Corpus Christi we
are all encourage to be part of the one universal Church
of Christ the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church- The
Body of Christ (Corpus Christi) to proclaim the Gospel.
