Sub: Supply and installation, testing, commissioning, documentation and guarantee of
Telephone coupler unit and interface unit, speakers for PA system in AUMP, UED.
Dear Sir / Madam,
Quotations are invited on behalf of Head, UED in sealed envelope for Supply, testing,
installation, commissioning, documentation and guarantee of Telephone coupler unit and
interface unit, speakers for PA system in AUMP, UED as per following specific terms and
conditions.
1. Scope of work:
The scope of work includes the followings:

Design, testing and supply of amplifier equipments, loud speakers of complete PA

system including telephone coupler unit and interface unit.

Installation of telephone coupler unit and interface unit which is suitable for existing
amplifier. ( Model No- PA600 of CHICAGO)

Installation of speakers, amplifier equipments etc.

Cabling and wiring for the Amplifier, speakers call stations etc. are in the scope of the
vendor.

All the accessories required for wiring are in the scope of the vendor( saddles, PVC
piping/ Casing Patti, clamps, glands, cable ties, screws, etc)

Check up inter connections of PA system, and commissioning on testing of

amplifiers, control desks and microphone stations, loudspeakers, PA system relays for
interconnection with intercom telephone system

Pre-commissioning checks and final testing and commissioning of the complete PA

system.

2. Technical Specification:

Telephone coupler unit shall consist of:

Interface unit suitable for connecting intercom exchange (EPAX) to PA system for
announcement through handset including controls relay etc.

All other necessary interconnection/indications/monitors shall also be provided along

with above mentioned accessories. The amplifier unit shall be draw out type and shall
have good frequency response. The amplifier shall not cause distortion and unit must
be suitable for operation on 230 V +10%, 1 phase, 50 Hz, AC. The amplifier rack
shall be suitable for floor mounting. All the wiring shall be clamped and shall run in
PVC channel. The front of the amplifier rack shall be provided with lockable type
glass acrylic doors of appropriate size to prevent unauthorized changes of various
controls. The amplifier modules shall be interchangeable. Telephone coupler unit
shall be complete in all respects for interface with PA system. Only port connection
shall be provided by BARC. EPABX parameters can be provided, if required, to the
successful bidder at the time of detailed engineering for designing proper telephone
interface

A ding dong tone generator may be provided for the system. This tone shall be
announced automatically through all the speakers through which announcement is to
be made i.e. each

announcement shall precede with a ding dong tone.

Interface unit for interconnection PA system to intercom telephone system (PAX)

shall be either housed in one of the amplifier racks or a separate box for the same may

be provided. However, interfacial relay unit inside the rack is preferred by the
purchaser.

Loudspeakers

Each 4 watt loudspeaker must be housed in a polished wooden cabinet. The unit must
be provided with volume control and line matching transformer. Graduation for
volume control shall be visible. A flexible twin twisted and overall sheathed cable
measuring around 2 meter shall be provided on the L.S. unit for connecting to
purchaser terminal box/ceiling rose. The overall design and construction of the
cabinet shall be aesthetically pleasing.

Each 15 watt industrial horn type loudspeaker unit shall be complete in all respect
with volume control; driver unit 2 meter long insulated and sheathed cord for
connecting to

purchaser's terminal box/ceiling rose, mounting brackets LMT.

Cabling

Cabling is in the scope of the vendor. All the accessories required for cabling are in
the scope of the vendor.

The signal cable of 1 sq.mm two cable from the junction box to the amplifier rack is
in the scope of the vendor length of the cable is 50Mtrs

Cabling for installation of telephone coupler unit and supply all the accessories
required for installation of telephone coupler unit is in the scope of vendor.

4. APPLICABLE STANDARDS:

IS 1301 - Code of safety requirements for electrical mains operated audio amplifier
IS 1490 - Recommendations for minimum performance requirements of mains
operated public
IS 1819 - Recommendations for general requirements of PA amplifiers
IS 1881 - Code of practice for installation of indoor amplifying and sound distribution
system
IS 2382 - Mounting dimensions of loudspeakers
5. PRICE: Offered should be including the entire scope of work (Supply,
installation,

testing

commissioning,

taxes,

packing

and

forwarding,

transportation). Max possible break up price should be given in the offer.

6. WARRANTY: 12 months from the date of commissioning.
7. VALIDITY: Price should be valid through out the contract period.
8. COMPLETION PERIOD: The job is to be completed within 6 weeks from the
date of receipt of the order any delay which is liable to the contractor is liable for
penalty @ 0.5% per week (5% maximum) to be imposed on the contractor.
9. INCOME TAX: Income Tax @2% and surcharge on tax as applicable shall be
deducted from vendors bill.
10. SAFETY: Party should follow all the safety procedure while working inside
BARC. During the execution of the work order party will be responsible for all
safety precautions to be maintained in the work area. The party should arrange all
the safety appliances.
11. PAYMENT: 100% including taxes after receipt of the unit at our site, final
acceptance of the total job and submission of the following documents:
1. Delivery Challan.
2. Advance Stamped Receipt.
3. Original Bill.
4. Guarantee certificate
5. Job completion certificate.
12. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Confidentiality: No party shall disclose any information to any third party concerning
the matters under this contract generally.

In particular, any information identified as

Propriety in nature by the disclosing party shall be kept strictly confidential by the
receiving party and shall not be disclosed to any third party without the prior written consent
of the original disclosing party.
This clause shall apply to the sub-contractors, consultants, advisers or the
employees engaged by a party with equal force.
Restricted information categories under Section 18 of the Atomic Energy Act,
1962 and Official Secrets under Section 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923:
Any contravention of the above mentioned provisions by any contractor, subcontractor, consultant, adviser or the employees of a contractor will invite penal
consequences under the aforesaid legislation.
Prohibition against use of BARCs name without permission for publicity purposes:
The contractor or sub-contractor, consultant, adviser or the employees engaged by the
contractor shall not use BARCs name for any publicity purpose through any public media
like Press, Radio, TV or Internet without the prior written approval of BARC.
Party should write clearly the Tender No. and due date on the top of envelope.
Quotation should be submitted on printed letter head. Party should mention their own
PAN/VAT No or service tax registration No on top of quotation.
