Dear Friends,

This prayer letter comes to j'-ou and to a group of other friends

whom we know have b^en interested in the work of the Boys' Home here in

Jamaica.

We are not only admonished in the Scriptures to pray, but we

are also told that God would give us the desires of our hearts.

Therefore we arc asking you to join in our chain of prayers that

God might grant a special blessing upon the Home at this time.
As you know, we have now paid sli.^htly over half of our mortgage

on the Hone property.

The remainder calls for a largo sum of interest

to be paid every three months.

It is our prayer that we might be re

lieved of this debt as quickly as possible.

Will you pray with us that we will be able to pay #5000,00 with
the June interest pa^^nent?

This is roiother of our impossibilities,

and yet God has shown us in the past that He can do the impossible.

If you will pled-e to pray with us, please si^^n tho little card
and return it to us,

Knowlege of your prayers is encouraging to us.

Enclosed with this letter is a copy of the "Caribbean Challenge"

a paper published by a British Christian Literature Crusade.

They have

featured our baby Tony on their cover this month and pictures inside,
so we thought you might like to see them.

God bless you as we pray and trust together for this payment.

In the Home, there is^ijoy unspeakable I

last little one, baby Lloyd Chimg,
has found his place, irffibt only around the table, but in the tender hf^arbs of
each little brother. I |.loyd is happy, contented and fast losing the sor-es and

marks of his pitiful ^a^t. His little Chinese eyes just dance with delight
over 0V':iry new th:Ln7 ^0 comes in contact with.

On December 4th, we held the Christmas program for our Day School, and some
250 people attended the buffet suppcsr provided by ladies of the consrunity. The
program v;as excellent. The boys of the Home formed a lovely manger sccne while
the other school children formed a large half circle behind them all dressed in

blue choir robes.

Mr, Glasspole, our Minister of Education, brought a very en

couraging message, stating how great a need the Home was filling in the community

and how pleased he i>ras vrith its groi^h. "Radio Jajmiica" again carried an acco^ont
of the function on tvjo news reports the following day.
The exciting events of December have included one of deep happiness. At the
airport on December third, a carload of boys greeted "Grandina" for her visit to

the Home.

Mrs. Ada Walker, Carol's mother arrived.

It was a gay getting acquain

ted all the way home as the boys asked her questions and gave her imforraation. It
is Mother'3 second visit to Jamaica.

We are most encouraged by the keen interest shown here in Jamaica for the

Home in these past months.

It is with prayerful and heartfelt thanks that we

mention those of you in America v;ho have shov.-n such faith in us during the trying
days of our labors here in Jamaica. Day after day v:e have labored faithfully,
devotedly, and to the best of our ability, God knows and understands, and is our
strength sufficient for each day. We appreciate the loving letters of encourage
ment, the gifts that have helped to meet every need, and the prayers that have
held us under the everlasting arms of Christ Jesus.

This is our month to pay the interest on our mortgege and also an opportunity
to pay on our principal.

We are asking God to help us to further reduce our in

terest payments by paj/ing off a bit more of the principal.

We earnestly covet

your prayers in this need for the sake of our boys.

With the addition of several new students in the Day School, v;e find it nec
essary to make an additional classroom for this coming term. Four uprights are
novf cemented firmly in the groiind and the rafters sliould go up this week. This
room is to be twenty feet by thirty feet and will be used for the Kindergarten.

The Christmas offering from the school program }ias helped to iiiake this possible
and we are trusting God for the remainder of fujids necessary to come in.
The church plans a lovely Christinas eve scrvicc from eleven to twelve mid

night. We have had times of rejoicing in recent months as we have worked together
vdth our little group of Christians, Another lovely mother of five children has
been baptized in November and we are thankful for her nex/ life in Christ.
Daily we live unto God and trust Him to guide in all matters. The evil one

is not pleased with the way God is working with the Home, but wq thank Him who
has the victoryi Thanks again, from the depths of our hearts at Christmas time,
for your loving interest and sincere goodwill.
Faithfully yours,
