Bhopal
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has

called next day of moving application. She said
that 99 lakh 6 thousand
passports have been
issued in the country
during one year denoting
to 17 percent increase.
Citing its reason, she
said that it is due to the
fact that India's relations with other countries and country's prestige in
the world is increasing. At foundation laying ceremony of Passport Bhavan here, Swaraj informed that a
passport centre will be opened at Indore. She
informed that youths will be given 6-month internship at passport office. She urged youths to become
interns of passport service. She said that Passport
Mitras will be raised for convenience of people. She
desired completion of the building in 2 years. Swaraj
informed that there was complete chaos in issuance
of passports one year ago. There was shortage of 5
lakh passport booklets. Order for them was not
placed. This work was completed within 15 days.
Now, one crore booklets are kept in reserve.
Appointment cycle has been shortened. It has been
brought from 48 days to 7 days and now one day at
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan
congratulated on completion of one year of the
Central Government. He said that passport facility is
necessary for increasing ties with word. The state
government will extend maximum cooperation in it.
Long wait for passports has ended. Referring to his
initiative "Friends of MP", he said that its objective is
to connect NRIs. Chief Passport Officer Shri
Muktesh Kumar Pardeshi said in his welcome
address that Madhya Pradesh had no passport office
before 1978. Work was done through Lucknow office.
When former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari
Vajpayee was Foreign Minister, he had given first
passport office to Madhya Pradesh. He expressed
gratitude to the Chief Minister for allotment of land
for the building.

"Modi government is playing with the national welfare and national security. This government neither
has policy nor priorities to strengthen the county,"
Joshi said in a press conference Joshi said Modi has
put in all his efforts in last one year only for "polishing his international image" instead of securing
borders and strengthening internal security. "The
Centre's unsuccessful policies, programmes and
strategic predicament are the evidence of the fact
that India has lost its strategic vision in the area of
defence," the former Union minister said. Joshi said
Modi government's "lack of concern" towards the
country's security is evident from a number of
issues. "...Reducing defence expenditure, frequent
ceasefire violations, rising tension on border,
Pakistan and China Infiltration into Indian territory,
no decision over one-rank one-pension scheme; all
these issues show Modi government's unconcern
towards the country's security," he alleged. Recalling
the initiatives undertaken by the erstwhile UPA government for securing the country's borders with
China, Joshi said the Congress-led regime had made a
provision of whopping Rs 85,478 crore for various
strategic projects including constituting the mountain
strike corps, but surprisingly the new Modi government has deducted expenditure under these projects
to its half. "Shockingly three weeks ahead of Modi's
visit to China, the defence inistry had sliced the budget for mountain strike corps...We should not forget
that China had registered objection during the formation of corps but we clarified to them, it is important
from our security point of view," Joshi said.

Supporters of BJP legislator Shivratan Sharma, who represents Bhatapara constituency, revolted against the
party brass recently. They
organized a protest in the
capital raising slogans
against non-inclusion of

supporters threatened to
block a national highway.
Sharma, however, clarified
he tried to pacify his supporters saying that party's
decision was final and binding on workers. BJP workers in
Jashpurnagar also hit the streets for denying kin of late Dilip
Singh Judeo a berth in the Cabinet. The workers and supporters of the Jashpur royal family forced shut down and
burnt effigies of CM Raman Singh and raised slogans.
Protesters blocked roads and forced shopkeepers to down
shutters. Judeo's son Yudhvir Singh represents Chandrapur
constituency in Janjgir-Champa district. He is a secondtime legislator. He was hoping to make it to the Raman
Singh ministry during recent cabinet expansion. Ever since
BJP leader and spearhead of 'ghar vapsi' programme Dilip
Singh Judeo's death, his sons and family were feeling sidelined by the Raman Singh government. They attribute their
alienation to their uncle, Ranvijay Singh Judeo's elevation
to Rajya Sabha. Dilip Singh Judeo, former Union minister,
had launched a 'ghar vapsi' campaign for re-conversion of
Christiansinto Hindu fold in undivided MP and later in
Chhattisgarh. Judeo royals hold considerable clout in tribaldominated Jashpur region. Meanwhile, BJP sources said the
ruling party was yet to reach a consensus on its choice for
the post of deputy speaker as some senior legislators, who
were hoping to make it to the cabinet, have refused to
accept the post. They said senior legislator Devji Bhai Patel,
who represents Dharsivan assembly segment, has been
offered the post, but he was not inclined to accept it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that any discrimination or violence against any community in the nation would not be tolerated. "I have said this before and I say it again: any discrimination or
violence against any community will not be tolerated. My position on this
is very clear: 'Sab ka saath, sab ka vikas.' We stand for each of the 1.25
billion Indians regardless of caste or creed and we will work for the
progress of each of them. Every faith in our country has equal rights; it
is equal not only before the law but also before society," said Modi. He
added that the constitution of the country guarantees religious freedom
to every citizen and that is non- negotiable. "Our Constitution guarantees religious freedom to every citizen and that is not negotiable. The tradition of welcoming, respecting and honouring all faiths is as old as India
itself. As Swami Vivekananda said: 'We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true.' This principle of equal
respect and treatment for all faiths has been a part of India's ethos for
thousands of years. And that is how it became integral to the
Constitution of India," said Modi. "Our Constitution did not evolve in a
vacuum. It has roots in the ancient cultural traditions of India. I expect
that everyone will understand and respect this," he added
