PROJECT NAME

The Papua New Guinea-Australia Agricultural Research Development Support Facility

(ARDSF) is a five year (2007-2012) flexible funding mechanism aimed at increasing
opportunities for rural smallholders in Papua New Guinea (PNG) to generate income and
maintain food security. The ARDSF assists selected national agricultural research and
development organisations to deliver improved services to their rural stakeholders. The
facility also includes a competitive grants scheme, open to all interested stakeholders, to
support innovations for agricultural development in PNG.
The facility has three components:
Component 1: Institutional Development of the National Agricultural Research Institute
(NARI).
Component 2: Institutional Development of the National Agricultural Research System
(NARS).
Component 3: The Agricultural Innovations Grants Scheme (AIGS).
Since 2007 the ARDSF has successfully engaged the NARS organisations and their primary
stakeholders to identify key capacity gaps and to develop a comprehensive capacity building
program. The facility commits to develop and sustain organisational capacity for enhanced
responsiveness to client needs; and to entrench a culture of managing for results with
accountability to clients and stakeholders.
The Facility will be guided by the Exit Strategy in the period up to 30 June 2012.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
Since 2007, ARDSF has produced a number of learning materials in the form of modules, mission reports and reading
materials. Prior to its closure, the Facility wishes to upload these materials for easy access to its resources. For this purpose,
it is looking for a competent web designer who updates its current website and expand the contents for a subsequent link to
the NARS and duplicate content in the PNG National Agricultural Research Institute Web Server and relevant stakeholders.
The current content of the web page consists of the following:
1. ARDSF: Under this are list of Components and its governance structure.
2. Core values
3. Events
4. List of the NARS organizations support by ARDSF
5. Key documents. This covers mostly confidential internal documents and publication that is accessible to the
public domain.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The primary objective is to:
o Redesign the current website, and
o Expand the contents for a subsequent link to the
NARS and duplicate content in the PNG National
Agricultural Research Institute Web Server and
relevant stakeholders.

to cater for the exhaustive list of materials like
publications, audio, video, press releases, pdfs, etc,
etc,
Archive setup on the listed websites below that can
be browsed from anywhere.

While we will provide the CMS facility to allow

ARDSF staff to easily upload the soft-copy of the
learning materials on to the new website, Software
Factory is not involved in the actual physical
upload of the data. The loading of the learning
materials on to the website will be responsibility of
the staff of ARDSF using the CMS facility that we
will build in the system.

Hosting of the new website will continue to be on

the existing Host Server. However, if you want us
to host the site then we can provide a competitive
quote on it. The alternate Host Server is NARI.

Software Factory to produce one Website Master

CD, and ARDSF will be responsible for the
duplication of the CDs for other stakeholders. In
case ARDSF requires Software Factory to make the
duplicate copies of CD then the cost per CD is
AUD20 and this includes the cost of courier
service.

Any travels from Fiji to PNG for the purpose of

training or other technical needs is out of this
scope. We however will provide training through
skype and email.
