Congratulations to the 63 young parishioners who were
confirmed during the past week. May this celebration of faith
be a further step in their initiation into the life of the Church.
May their parents, sponsors and indeed the whole parish be
models of faith for these children.

Stewardship Renewal: Kevin Ryan will be our co-ordinator of our Stewardship

Renewal Program that commences towards the end of July. The parishes of St Pius
(West Warrnambool), St Patricks (Port Fairy) & the Infant Jesus (Koroit) are also
undertaking a similar Program at this time. We will be working with Melbournes
Archdiocesan Development Office. It has been some time since we had a Parish
Stewardship Program and it is hoped parishioners will embrace the Renewal.
Royal Commission: Public Information Forum is being held this Wednesday at the
Lighthouse Theatre, 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The Forum will be hosted by Commissioner
Justice Jennifer Coate. Further information contact the community Engagement

Refugee Week: Pope Francis Intentions: That immigrants and refugees may find
welcome and respect in the countries to which they come. Abandoning migrants at
sea is an attack on life. Life is a gift and Pope Francis urges us to reflect on how
people are treated throughout all stages of life.
Rural Australians for Refugees: Social afternoon this Saturday at Brophy Family &
Youth Services, Timor St 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Everyone welcome
National eConference: 'Religion Catalyst for Violence or Peace' Tapping into
interfaith issues surrounding the three Abrahamic traditions: Christianity, Judaism &
Islam. The aim is to explore the potential for these traditions to cultivate peace in a
world that associates religion with violence. Tuesday, June 23rd St Joseph's Parish
Hall 10.00am 2.30pm. Shared lunch. Registration sheet is available in the
Gathering Space
Emmanuel College: The Young Vinnies has raised $1,400 to date for local needs,
Nepal and the Assist a Student Program overseas.
Annual Vacation: Fr John commences his break this week. Fr Tom Brophy will
supply in the Parish for the next 3 weekends.
