The creator of this universe has introduced intelligently medicinal herbs in the universe just like
chemicals in the laboratory. Teliya kand is one of this creation .Which is almost distinct. I got the
detail knowledge regarding Teliya kand from the book written by Dr. Narayan Dat Shreemaliji. Then I
started research on this herb. Many untruthful stories are being heard regarding Teliya kand. Some
people think that, Teliya kand is found in hilly region. Some say that it is totally vanished from the
earth. In this way, what is Teliya kand, where is it found, For these questions people are
directionless. I have heard many stories of Teliya kand throughout my 15 years of research period.
According to one great fellow; Teliya kand can melt iron. If iron rod is inserted in Teliya kand & then
if it is tried to band after removing out of kand, it will bend easily, it is also called as Jogiya kand.
People say that it is very useful in cancer.
According to one great fellow, sadhus in Himalaya region fill Teliya kand in their Cigarettes(Chilam)
in order to protect their body from cold. Moreover, one great person made gold from Mercury &
Copper by using Teliya kand. We have read several exampleslike this.Roots of some plants are
being identified as Teliya kand in many states, So it is very difficult to decide the real Teliya kand.
Hence an attempt has been made to research in this conterct. There are vernacular names of Teliya
kand in many langauges, but unable to publish due to refusal from my teacher (Guru).
SOURCE DISTRIBUTION :
In old classics, it is nowhere mentioned about the source distribution of Teliya kand, but its
synonyms and qualities are mentioned.

It is also mention in Shabdakalpadruma- Part 2 - Page no.83. One reference in Rasashastras book
namely Suvarna Tantram (Parmeswar Parshuram conversation) is found which states that a lotus
like rhizome is found in water from which an oil is secreted covering an area of about 10 feet over
the water. Snakes are found in its vicinify. Morover its reference is also found in a book Jangle ni
Jadi-booti(Page no.223) written by Shamlasa Gaur.
Teliya kand is found in Vindhyachal, Abu, Girnar, Amarnath, On the banks of Narmada river,
Himalaya & Kashmir etc. It is also found in Chhttisgadha, Rangakhar & in the mountains of
Bhopalapatnam in Madhyapradesh. Roots of this herb are marketed against its name. Old people of
that region opine that copper turns into gold when copper is melt in juice of Teliya kand. If anyone
consumes its juice, then geriatric changes are delayed in that particular person. Shreemaliji has also
mentioned in his book about this. The divine saintsl person (Rushi-gana) of India are great as they
have contributed India to get called as Sparrow of Gold by introducing such divine knowledge.

USES OF TELIYA KANDA :
It is a poisonous medicinal herb. It should be used with precautions.
it is specifically used ask in arthritis, blister, ulcer, skin diseases, goitre, analgesic,
contraceptive, azoospermia, premature ejaculation, tetanus, epilepsy, snake poisoning, ascitis,
cough, tuberculosis, brochial asthma, cancer of any type, abdominal pain, cramps, frature, wart,
pimples, worms etc.
Its extract is antimicrobial, antidiaphoretic, anti-inflammatroy, bitter in taste & used in Calcium
deficiency & as energy booster. Ash of Teliya kanda is used in wounds, skin

diseases &pimples etc. Its seeds mixed with salt are used in oesophagitis. its flowers are yellowishwhite & aromatic.
PRECAUTIONS :
Teliya kanda is a poisonus medicinal plant. Hence precautions should be taken during its use Teliya
kanda contains three types of poisonous chemical constituents; Overdose causes pharyngitis,
vertigo, renal failure or it may cause death also, hence old rhizome(kanda) should be kept in water
overnight or should be boiled in water by which its poisons are removed.
CULTIVATION OF TELIYA KANDA :
Teliya kand cultivation is done by sowing its seeds & rhizome. Seeds should be first scrapped by
emari paper then should be soaked in water overnight. After that it should be sowed in a pot or pit.
Humid & moist place is favorable for this. It should be prevented from direct sunlight. Green house is
more favorable for this plant. Black, alkaline soil mixed with sand & lime should be used for the
plantation of its rhizome & seeds.
REJUVENATION BY TELIYA KAND :
Rejuvenation is achieved by consuming Teliya kand powder with cows milk for fifteen days. Powder
should be mixed in milk.
GOLD PREPRATION FROM TELIYA KAND :
If juice of Teliya kand is triturated with Arpimant for Twenty-one days then arpimant doesnt generate
fumes when subjected to fire. It is said that arpimant melts Copper & Silver & turns into Gold.
PREPRATION OF PARAD BHASMA (MERCURY) FROM TELIYA KAND :
Teliya kand is made into pulp by trituration in which triturated mercury(in Teliya kand juice) is kept &
subjected to Sharav-samupata [a closed container made up of two shatlow, soil made pans.], by
which Bhasma is obtained.

RELATION BETEWEEN TELIYA KAND & SNAKES :

Its flower look like snake-shaped. Sanskrit Name-Sarpapushpi Sarpini. It is also called as Sarpa
kand. Teliya kand is anti snake venom. Snakes live beneath the rhizome, because that rhizome
snakes like Goats butter towards which snaked get attracted. There are marks like snakes body
over the stern of Teliya kand. This plants is oily just like cobras body. Hence it is related with
snakes. In some places, problems are arised by snakes while with collecting Teliya kand-rhizomes.

TYPES OF TELIYA KAND :
Teliya kand is a unisexual plant. This plant is having different female & male types. One black
coloured Teliya kand is also available. There are many species of Teliya kand out which the ones
mentioned here are famous.
DAL OF TELIYA KAND :
Important ingredients
Boiled leaves of Teliya kand, Boiled Bengal gram.
Garlic, Red chilly, salt, oil.
PROCEDURE :
Putting all the ingredient in an oil in a frying pan; boil until the water starts boiling. If this Dal is
consumed with rice, a person can be prevented from any disease for an year & any kind of pain in
any part of the body is also resolved.

CHIPS OF TELIYA KAND :
Small wafers of Teliya kand are dried & then fried by adding some salt & chilly. If tastes really good.
USE OF TELIYA KAND AS A CONTRACEPTIVE :
Conception can be avoided for a week after consuming one teaspoonful of Teliya kand powder with
water.

REASON BEHIND EXTINCTION OF TELIYA KAND :
Mentality of the people in India is the main reason behind the extiction of Teliya kand, if people come
to see this plant, they immediately take it. Moreover this plant is unisexual, its female & male plants
rhizome are separate hence they should be in the vicinity of each other for its propagation. Red ants
destroy this rhizome & place with shade & moist is favourable for this plant devoid of which it gets
destroyed.
EXAMINATION OF TRUE TELIYA KAND :
1. Iron nail is put inside the rhizome which catches rust on the next day.
2. Camphors melts if kept over the rhizomes.
DESCRIPTION FOR THE DIFFERENT NAMES OF TELIYA KAND :
1. LOHA - DRAVAK :
(Loha means metal) Metal melts in juice of Teliya kand or when any metal is subjected for melting, if
some amount of powder of Teliya kand is put in it, then it helps in melting in the metal.
2. KARAVEER - KAND :
One species of Teliya kand is having leaves like that of Karaveer(Nerium indicam).

3. TIL - CHITRA PATRAK :

Til means sesame like marks over the leaves & stem of Teliya kand.
4. TAILKAND :
Its exudate is oily.
5. VISHKAND :
Its rhizome is poisonous.
6. SIDDHIKAND :
Achieves(helps in achieving) Dehasiddhi & Lohasiddhi.
7. KANDASANGYA :
Due to its huge rhizome(kand).
