Stars 247, 317 and 317-2 are acclaimed as universal

UTILISATION

A STAR ON MANY STAGES

No matter whether theyre performing spot, tack,
joint or overlay welding, trailing, leading, vertical-down
or vertical-up, the Vario Stars always know their parts
inside out, and play them with aplomb. This means that
theyre just as happy performing in the steel and portal
construction fields as in auto-body and repair work, not
to mention in training centres. Their breadth of character
can also be seen in their choice of props: CO 2 or
mixed gas, wire thicknesses from 0.6 mm to 1.2 mm the result is always ideal.

WORKPIECE
A Vario Star is a delight to work with. Whatever
the job that needs doing, high-grade welding joints, low
spatter and exceptionally high performance are the
result. This is taken care of firstly by the specially
developed Fronius welding transformer, which ensures a
steady, stable arc, and secondly by generously
dimensioned power components such as rectifiers and
inductances, in conjunction with the series fan.

When it comes to ease of handling, the Vario

Stars are hard to beat. None of their many technical
refinements intimidates the user in any way - far from it,
the user will only see them from their most
straightforward side. The electronic control system and
the 2 or 4-roller feeder system ensure constant, reliable
wirefeed - even in difficult welding positions. The
logarithmic display scale
makes it easy to set the
wirefeed speed continuously, precisely
and reproducibly. The
spot-welding and
intermittent welding
times are also
continuously adjustable, with the necessary controls
clearly arranged on the front panel. Every Vario Star has
a central connector that makes it possible to change
torches quickly and to make exact current and gas
connections.
The Vario Stars 317 and 317-2 thrill their
audiences with a number of well-rehearsed extra tricks
- like the integrated polarity reverser feature for fluxcored wire welding, for example, or the digital
volt/ampere meter for ensuring the replicability of
welding data.
On the Vario Star 317-2, the wirefeeder is a
separate, autonomous unit that increases your radius of
action to as much as 10 m. As you will see, with a Vario
Star you can be 100% sure of a brilliant performance.
