Bullying Victim the Effect Long In College
The term Bullying relates to dominating aggressively, abusing, and frightening by the use
of force or threat. Bullying could include verbal harassment and it could also include the acts that
are used to threaten the targets. The main causes of bullying are the differences in the race,
religion, social class, gender and reputation etc.
Bullying in high schools continues in the college, and the post effects of being bullied
continue in the college. The consequences of being bullied in the school, college are the same, all
feel alone and isolated. They hardly found anyone around to help or to listen. Persons who get
bullied from others found mostly saying that they think that it is difficult to make friends, they
fell that no one is there to listen even in college. They also find difficult to fight back when they
hear abusive things from others. It is also reported that the persons who get bullied from other
are more likely to become victim of bullying themselves. Other consequences could be the
reduction in their academic performance. Some of the victims of bullying chose a more drastic
response which includes committing suicides. Bullying could be found in all levels so it is could
be concluded that it prevails in all age levels in fluctuating grades (Adams and Lawrence).
Students who have experienced bullying in the school continue reveal the characteristics
or post effects even in college.

This study was intrigued by the suicide of the students that was the victims of bullying in
schools and colleges. It also revealed that the major reasons of bullying in the elementary or high
school is the school adjustment and changing of the school and it mostly occurs in the school of
rural areas. Another study revealed that the student faced bullying in the elementary school also
face its consequences in the secondary schools. It has been found that the bullies usually have
friendships with the individual having aggressive characteristics or attitude. Bullies usually show
the same aggression at all levels that include elementary, middle and high school to dominate or
acquiring any property at all levels. Research study has also stated that self-esteem in the person
who got bullied in their early stage is low. This study was conducted to determine that whether
the bullied of colleges are the same who got bullied in school. The bullying process is very
complex and it involves a number of factors. They usually are the one who feel difficulty to fit in
the society or the person who seems awkward and could easily be bullied (Adams and
Lawrence).
The research methodology of the study is the qualitative as the study is based on the
student of high schools and colleges so questionnaire was used to get the responses of the
students, there were 269 undergraduate students who contributed in the study and filled the
surveys. They sample size is based on both males and females. There were around 176 females
and 93 males who are studying in mid-western college. The results of the study are more
authenticate because the teachers were involved in filling out the surveys. Students were selected
randomly from the classes. In case of difficulty in understanding the questions, were addressed
by students assisting the survey. Likert scale was used in the questionnaire to obtain the more
accurate results, which covers the five heads 5= strongly agree to 1= strongly disagree (Adams
and Lawrence).

The result has showed that the students of higher education shows the effects of the
bulling they got in schools and elementary schools. There are number of bullying characteristics
that were used in the study. The term safety represent the state when students become unable to
feel relax, they only feel safe in areas where there are less number of persons or have a limited
access. They are afraid that someone may say abusive or hurtful words to them. The victims also
feel the feeling of being excluded from the group task or gathering, they also feel the feeling of
the isolation that no one will listen to them. Bullying victims also get the abused on sharing their
opinions. Victims show that they feel reluctant in sharing the ideas and they feel difficult in
making friends. They also face the feeling that no one will believe what they say and they feel
isolated. The author has used the cause and effect method by giving the effects and their causes
(Adams and Lawrence).
This study concludes that the victims of bullying from their peers are at more danger
relative to the victims of moving from one place to another. Bullying increases at all levels with
the increase in the educational environment. The argument selected by the author was effective
but the institution selected was not a good choice. This study was conducted in college of rural
area and it includes just one college. The results of the study are not reliable and it could be
authenticated by the taking survey from different colleges and by filling the surveys from diverse
group of people.
