The yoke
The suit is knitted top-down with double strands. We used 1 strand main colour and one strand
pattern colour for the yoke. To get a nice colour play, make sure to change colours from the
wrong side.
Cast on 40 s LOOSELY.
Knit garter stitch back and forth.
The first button hole is knitted after 4 rows, from the right side. Knit button holes every 14 rows
like this:
K3, YO, K2tog, knit the rest of the row.
Knit 7 rows
Increase 16 s evenly.
Knit 9 rows.
Increase 20 s evenly.
Knit 7 rows.
Increase 22 s evenly.
= 118 s.
Part the piece into sleeves and body piece after about 0.4
K20 s, place 22 s on some scrap yarnfor the sleeve, cast on 6 s under the sleeve, K 34 s, place 22
s on some scrap yarn for the sleeve, cast on 6 s under the sleeve, K 20 s.
Knit the body piece back and forth (= 86 s) until it is ca 11.4 from where you increased the first
time.
Consider if you should knit the last button hole as youll now start knitting in the round. Drop
it if its too close to the overlap.
You will now knit the front bands together, to reduce the 12 s to 6. When knitting these
together, youll start knitting in the round in stockinette (except the 6 front band s). Knit like
this on the next row from the right side:
Knit until 6 s remains. Place these on to a spare needle, and place it behind the work.
place th 6 s on the beginning of the row from the left needle to the right needle. Now place the s
to the left on the spare needle onto the left needle, followed by the first s on the right needle.
Repeat 6 times.
(Make sure the front band with button holes overlaps the other!)
P2tog 6 times = 80 s.
Place a marker after 40 s to mark the middle back (the round starts in the middle of the 3 front
band s).
*K6 s past this marker, turn
P6 s past the same marker, turn*
Repeat from * to * but add 6 for each
Legs
Knit each leg seperately in stockinette in the round = 34 s for each leg.
The round starts in the croch.
Decrease 16 evenly on the next round when the leg is 6.2
= 18 s
Continue in garter stitch in the round fior about 2" before casting off the 9 s along the front of
the leg.
Knit garter stitch back and forth in a pattern colour. Make 1 new s at the beginning and end of
the first row by making backward loops.
Cast off when the piece is 2.3 from where you casted off.
Fold this flip up in the back of the leg. Sew it neatly to the leg along the sides, making a small
pocket you can fold over the foot to create a sock.
Sleeves
Cast on 6 s under the sleeve = 28 s. The beginning of the round starts in the middle of these 6
new stitches. Place a marker here.
Continue in stockinette in the round until the sleeve is 4.3. Decrease 8 s evenly on the next
round = 20 s.
Continue in garter stitch for another 2" before knitting like this:
K 5 s, cast off 10 s, K s.
Knit garter stitch back and forth in a pattern colour. Make 1 stitch in each end of the row by
maing backward loops.
Cast off when the flip is 2.3".
