TIGER ACADEMY: After School Tutoring

Dear Parent/Guardian:

End of Year State Exams (EOGs) are only three months away and we want to give our children every chance to
succeed in meeting their goals. As a result, KIS will provide two-four week sessions of enrichment and remediation
in Math and Language Arts for fifth and sixth grade as well as EOG practice and test taking skills. We will also offer
Science remediation for fifth grade students.

From November to February of this school year, KIS has been providing after school tutoring through outside
services to select students who meet certain Title I criteria. Beginning February 23, 2010 KIS will offer the Tiger
Academy Tutoring to students who have not had the opportunity to receive tutoring services this year. We believe
that Tiger Academy would benefit your child by providing additional instruction to prepare him/her for the End of
Year Assessments. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 to 3:15.
The specific dates are listed below.

Parental Responsibilities
Return permission form to your child’s homeroom teacher.
No additional students will be admitted to the program after the cut-off date.
Transportation for Tiger Academy will not be provided.
Students participating must have transportation arranged ahead of time.
Please ensure your child is picked up no later than 3:30.
Multiple late pick-ups will result in being dismissed from the program.

Student Expectations
Students are expected to attend all session.
If they are present at school, they should attend tutoring.
Participation in Tiger Academy carries high expectations for behavior.
Classroom disruptions during Tiger Academy will result in dismissal from the program.
Two unexcused absents will result in dismissal from the program.
