ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission: to provide piping engineering expertise and support to the Project
execution phase including detailed design, construction, commissioning and startup.
Tasks:
Supervising Contractors Piping Engineering during the Engineering, Procurements and
Construction Phases, ensuring the quality and cost control of the works according to the
contract and Clients requirements, and guaranteeing that the project schedule are correctly
met.
Providing Piping, pipelines and layout technical input in line with the project requirements,
into technical studies and specifications.
Ensuring a smooth and effective transfer of relevant discipline engineering data and
information between Contractors and the Client. Responding to queries from Contractors.
Supporting Engineering Manager and Project Engineers in the adoption of relevant
engineering standards and specifications that are required for EWRP design and
construction, with appropriate consideration of the Locations national standards and norms.
Ensuring Clients procedures are adhered to
Resolving and responding to technical queries from bidders
Resolving and responding to technical queries from bidders.
Reviewing technical contract documents & engineering reviews.
Engineering quality and adherence to standards.
Responding to queries from designated packages

Degree in mechanical engineering or relevant discipline


Extensive experience in 3 D CAD.
Knowledge of the Standards (ANSI, ASME);
Knowledge of materials and their characteristics, ALLOY STEEL, CARBON STEEL, STAINLESS
STEEL, etc.;
Knowledge of valves types and of their operation and usage;
Knowledge of the piping Suppliers market;
Knowledge of erection problems.
Experience in managing contractors work will be an advantage.
English language knowledge advanced level

ROLE NAME: PIPING DRAFTSMAN
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission: to coordinate a team of draftsmen, giving technical mentoring regarding the quality
and the delivery of designs executed by the team, through program plan and technical reviews
Tasks :
coordinates design and drawing activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development
and Technical Study & Detailed Design)
prepares Layout and Piping drawings and design deliverables to the required technical
quality with minimum input from engineering personnel as required
provides technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required and ensure, as far
as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed
budget and schedule
checks the progress of the activities of the team he is responsible for, suggesting suitable
actions to prevent, absorb or minimize any deviations in terms of time and costs
ensures the controlled management of the documents within his area of responsibility
gives assistance to the other project positions as far as specialist aspects are concerned
supports the Senior Piping Engineer in the relationship with the client or the other external
organizations within his area of responsibility

ROLE NAME: PLANNING ENGINEER
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission: to contribute information and guidance, to ensure the productive and timely
completion of the project through the preparation, coordination and continuous up-dating of an
overall program for the site construction work
Tasks:
studies and assesses the target dates for the project and stays completely familiar with the
work and the parameters of the work program
ensures that all programmed activities have man hour contents in line with Company
Procedures
reviews the existing material and equipment schedules and obtains updated delivery
information from the relevant departments
assists the Resident Site Manager and the Construction Superintendent in the preparation of
the construction plan
prepares the site plan consistent with the requirements and availability of the drawings,
specifications, target dates and definitive estimate
ensures that all staff and subcontractors are made aware of the site plan and appreciates
the part they will need to play in its implementation
utilizes the progress data, updates the site plan and informs those concerned when
progress is falling behind and maintains a constant check on materials and equipment
delivery dates through the use of a bi-weekly look-a-head schedule
attends progress meetings and reports on the current situation and notes all changes in the
forward plans and any restrictions on progress
records the works additional to the original requirements and all variations and revisions
which must be incorporated in the site plan and informs the appropriate staff and
subcontractors of any changes to their workload and any alterations to the targets
previously set
collates work progress for each contract and each area and includes them in the weekly and
monthly Site Reports; reviews and agrees with Subcontractors on programs, to ensure
compatibility with project requirements
monitors the site progress and prepares weekly look ahead to maintain objectives and
agreed milestones
prepares man-hour criteria for all activities i.e. histogram; marks-up drawings weekly to
assess progress to man-hours

ROLE NAME: QA/QC ENGINEER
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission: to develop Quality Assurance documents, plans, procedures and process flow charts.
To organize and perform QA audits on project team and contractor/supplier work processes. To
identify quality problems providing to the project team recommended corrective and preventive
actions
Tasks :

revises and implements a project Quality Management System (QMS) that assures policies,
objectives, targets and standards are met within District Projects Department
supports Project Coordinators by ensuring that the QMS meets their needs. Initially this will
require the incumbent to work closely with the Senior Project Engineers to document and
implement a Project Management System suitable for the multi-project environment,
focusing on the appropriate level of documentation and an effective common information
system;
continually improves the system as required to work with local contractors to help them
develop and implement compatible Quality Management Systems;
provides specialist QMS support for pre-qualification of Contractors, Bid Evaluations, and
other aspects of Tenders and Contracts;
raises QA awareness and ensures that value adding QA considerations are effectively
addressed throughout design and project execution;
advises Project Coordinators and their supervisors of quality problem areas and
recommends corrective actions;
manages the Project Action Tracking and Change Control systems;
interfaces internally with all DTS staff, at all levels, with other DPE and District Division staff
requiring QA advice and services, and with QA colleagues in other Divisions;
interfaces externally, with QA staff and management of District Project contractors;
liaises with Corporate QA and others for advice, information and guidance;
liaises with Third Party Inspection Parties during all the applicable phases of the project;

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission:
to assure the implementation of Safety policies & procedures and of the relevant legal
regulations covering the proposed project,
to develop, implement and supervise the Project HSE Execution Plan
Tasks :
checks and ensures that an adequate supply of safety equipment is provided, ensuring that
the location and accessibility of these items are known and that records concerning this
equipment are maintained
ensures that all personnel, including subcontractors are informed about the safety
procedures and conditions existing on site and that they are instructed in the required
safety techniques. The Safety Officer will also require them to report any hazard that may
occur in time to prevent an accident
instructs the subcontractors that all accidents and injuries must be reported to the Safety
Officer immediately; the subcontractor shall then investigate the accident, analyze the
causes and take corrective and preventive actions
maintains a record of each accident showing time and manner, the area in which it
happened, the outcome of the accident, the actions taken to remedy the effects and the
actions taken to prevent a recurrence of the cause
prepares a report of all accidents, unless of a very minor nature, for submission to the
Resident Site Manager and Safety Coordinator

assures the production of Detailed Structural and Civil Design Drawings using 2D Bentley
(Intergraph) Microstation
produces and reviews detailed design drawings relating to the following subjects:

ROLE NAME: WELDING ENGINEER
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission:
to ensure that all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant Codes of
Practices and Company procedures/practices.
to actively participate in the following:
o coordinating Crossing, Connection, Line, Piles and Platform Welding activities and
optimizing welding times and production, following the specifications and directives
of the Site Manager and Assistant Manager;
o following the Company safety standards
Tasks :

suitably managing the synergies of team members and equipment used in order to optimize
the human and technical resources one is in charge of;
organizing, managing and coordinating the work of welders during various welding
techniques, ensuring compliance with quality and safety procedures and standards;
ensuring total understanding and implementation of all major contract requirements and
project specifications;
checking the use and storage of all welding material and equipment;
supporting the QC supervisor and NDT operators in controlling and maintaining quality
standards and identifying any tendencies for anomalies and defects to occur;

and monitoring both application and performance;
examining visually work in progress and effectively supervising repair procedures;
reviewing welding requirements for field erected structures, vessels, tanks, boilers and other
process plants;
ensuring that all welding and testing related records form a compete package and reflect
the As Built integrity of the plant;
liaising between the Client Inspection Department on all aspects of Welding, Heat
Treatment, Hardness Testing and Non-Destructive Testing;
ensuring that all installed pipe/fittings are to the correct specification and that the material
is in accordance with the specified Material Traceability requirements;

ROLE NAME: MECHANICAL ROTATING EQUIPMENTS ENGINEER
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Mission: To provide mechanical expertise during the Concept Definition Phase for the
Project Management and in preparation for the execution phase for static/mechanical
equipment and rotating machinery
To provide governance and supervision of mechanical/machinery studies and evaluation
during the Project Concept Definition.
Tasks :
Leading and directing specialist design and engineering contractor during the FEED (Front
End Design Engineering) for mechanical and rotating equipment
Review scope and deliverables of the FEED contractors and other contractors
Review equipment lists, equipment data sheets including preliminary sizing of major
equipment items and as a basis for cost estimation, contributing to a data base of size,
weight, cost and delivery time of major equipment and packages associated with onshore
facilities.
To help ensure that lessons learned from operations and activities performed and all
experience gained in the relevant discipline is valued and capitalised.
To support the engineering manager and the project manager in interfacing with
Company and other partnership organisation.

To provide support in the preparation of the documentation and data for the Decision
Support Package to allow the sanction of the project.

To interface with the Project Engineering group in order to ensure that design criteria,
design input, design standards are commonly applied and integrity of the whole Project is

Degree in Mechanical engineering or similar


Demonstrable experience (min. 3 years) and proven track record in offshore and onshore oil and gas
project front end engineering, detailed design, delivery and operation. Include all aspects of rotating
equipment specification and design.
Previous experience as a senior technical specialist within a team.
Excellent technical abilities as a Mechanical Engineer.
Demonstrable working knowledge of relevant technical codes and standards within the mechanical
engineering discipline.
