Manager, Advanced Technology & Continuous Improvement, Inmet, 1998-2007

• Developed, managed and directed a team of Manufacturing, Tooling and Technical specialists in identifying,
analyzing, and evaluating existing and new production methods.
• Led this team to be an industry leader in the engineering and manufacturing of automotive components by
developing a culture that encouraged team work, continuous improvement and the elimination of waste (i.e.
reduced P131 from three shift operation over 6.5 days to a two shift 5 day a week operation through revised weld
schedules, program and cable enhancements, tooling improvements and the use of better weld guns. Saved the
company $1.5 million per year.
• Led and
facilitated machine designs, process modification and improvements of cycle time reduction by means of best
methods and industry practices, developed presentations for GM, Daimler/Chrysler, and Ford showing best
production methods and best practices to ensure quality parts
• Quoted
equipment costs of all new lines; worked with equipment manufacturers to ensure that new technology was
implemented and cost reductions were received.
• Research
ed and developed new technology such as tandem welding using a variety of welding wires and gases to utilize a
cost effective process.
• R&D
remote laser welding and other processes to improve manufacturing process, labor costs on existing product
lines and new product development.
• Developed
new technology and joining processes for the Ford S197 Lower Control Arm I-beam patented design and
successfully launching both the LCA and all related suspension components on this program.
• Worked
with and assisted production personal and employees to obtain company’s vision set out by the CEO and senior
management
• Deeply
involved in the development and implementation of equipment procurement standards and Welding Standards
for the Multimatic Stamp Welded Group
• Developed
a supply base to reduce welding consumables to the tune of $500K annually, including long term contracts with
major equipment suppliers
