Daramola Liberty Joseph

Dear President Jonathan,As I started reading the transcript of your speech in yo

ur flag off campaign for 2nd term in office, my heart was gladdened to know that
the speech was directed to Nigerian youths of which I am one. I must say that u
p to this time I decided to read your manuscript I have heard a lot of bad thing
s that seemed true about your government and hence had a poor view of your time
in office. It was only after working hard to put my sentiments away and after li
stening to Oguntola Adelowo, a colleague of mine who has been preaching about yo
u did I read online the transcript of your speech. When you said 'my speech is di
rected to the youths, those who will be voting for the first time', I began to d
oubt my earlier beliefs of you being imcompetent and lacking a plan, I was eager
to hear from you what and how you have worked tirelessly for my generation in t
he past 6 years in office and also what you intend to do in the next 4 years to
consolidate your efforts. Therefore sir, it came as a shock to me that you spoke
of everything but your plans, you addressed every issue but the germane ones th
at has so far affected my generation and is already shaping out our future.Sir,
I did what you requested, I asked my father, a middle-class citizen, who is 66 y
ears old now about Buhari's tenure and here was his reply 'I remember those days
, we had very stable electricity, youths didn't fancy travelling abroad because
they felt they could get even better here, I bought a carton of tin peak milk fo
r #1.20k, I could iron press my clothes minutes to going out, fuel was sold for
50k per litre, corrupt people like umaru dikko were jailed , no minister or gove
rnment official could be accused of corruption and resign only to run for an hig
her office, and no public official was alleged with fraud only to be seen on Nat
ional T.V laughing in court' and he ended by saying that during those times, eve
ryone knew the rules and tried as much not to break the law but that now the sam
e laws made to protect the average nigerian like him is what his used to oppress
them and he concluded by saying that there is no perfect government and that th
ough it was military they enjoyed many good things that our own generation may n
ever enjoy due to the high level of corruption in our government, except ofcours
e things change. Sir, in your speech you spoke of building 12 federal universiti
es, yet the one I school in which is 30 years old can not still provide enough s
itting stools for students. You speak of producing more megawatts, yet I rarely
have power supply to view many of the interesting programs and football matches
shown on DSTV. You speak of needing time to tackle insecurity, yet you have had
6 years already, you fail to forget that Obama took down the world's greatest te
rrorist in just 3 years. You speak of fertilizer distribution, yet we buy beans
for #200 per derica from #140 in 2010 when fertilizers where stolen (I think I w
ould prefer to have the fertilizer stolen and buy food cheaper than now. You spe
ak of improved economy yet we buy fuel for #97 from #65 (49.32% increase), beans
for #200 from #140 (42.86% increase), housing #200,000 from #120,000 (66.67% in
crease), transportation #50 from #30 (increase of 66.67%), Salary #18,000 from #
15,000 (increase of 20%). Where then is the improvement in Nigeria's economy not
to forget ther over 100% increase in fees paid by tertiary institutions nationw
ide. Thank you for admitting that your generation has failed us, but my generati
ons have decided to do things differently, to succeed where our fathers have fai
led; to vote for a change in government. Thank you sir for serving us to the bes
t of your abilities sir, your lack of confidence to focus on your plans for us w
ithin the next for years during your speech has betrayed my generations trust in
you.
Did you know that in 1983, Chief Obafemi
Awolowo contested at the age of 74 while
Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe contested in 1979
at age of 75? Did you know that Ronald Reagan
became US president at the age of 70 and
served two terms of four years each? Just last December, Tunisia sworn in Beji C
aid
Essebsi as their President. Did you know
how old is he? President Essebsi is 88 years

old. The election that brought him in as

president was the first free and fair
presidential election since the country (Tunisia ) gained independence in 1956.
If
a 72 years old grand "Pa" (as the haters
called him) can give me constant
electricity, guarantee maximum security
(stop the killings up North), put food on
my table and stop corruption that a 57 years old young man who is suffering from
an inferiority complex can not give then I
will be a very big fool to refuse such
CHANGE. So those making noise about
BUHARI's age should shut the hell up and
give in for a great change. I'M SO PROUD TO BE AN ELEMENT OF CHANGE what about
you?
Hmmmm, i think seriouly,PDP is feeling the absence of OBJ in their campaign. Th
ey do not know what to do. The people like Fayose and FFK managing the campaign
do not know what else to do than to attack the personality of GMB. Funny enough
to their own detriment, the more they do that the more they expose their flank,
weaken the remaining chances of their candidate and make GMB more popular. After
Fayose first advert of death on GMB, I have seen several undecided individuals
in various platforms (Nairaland inclusive) who now say they are supporting GMB b
ecause of the profane level of the advert. The CHANGE is here, the wind is so st
rong! Let a million of Fayoses and FFKs with Asaris continue with their attacks
and refuse to face the real issues facing the country and GMB will continue to r
ide on the popularity via their attacks to victory. 14 FEBUHARI is here, the min
d of people are made up and the CHANGE will surely come!
Feyi dont wast your precious time commenting to any non-issue based comment on y
our wall. You could have seen well enough that some illiterate and uneducated one
around thinks and reason far more better than some educated fellow we have arou
nd.Please avoid any comment thats not center around or in the neighbourhood of
what the present government has done in the last six years in office and what th
ey intend to do in the next four years.Abi the agenda for the next four years is
now operation show your certificate. What hurt me the most is that, the more they
try to castigate this man,the more they win more fans for the amn and make him
more popular, weaken the remaining chances of GEJ.
November 2014, Jonathan shocked Nigerians with the news that Boko haram has take
n control of 6 towns in 4 LGA s the height of incompetence in balkanizing the Nige
rian state, a week later, Nigerians were blown away by series of austerity measu
res handed to them for their stupidity in 2011.
The naira was devalued at the pretext of drop in oil prices but Nigerians never
asked why the Naira never appreciated when the oil price was increasing?
If the foreign reserve were not stolen, Nigeria would have weathered the storm f
or at least 6months like we did during the global melt down of 2004 and 2008, un
fortunately, the incompetence of the Jonathan administration has brought grave c
onsequence on the Nigerian people, Inflation and high cost of energy are likely
consequences.
According to Will Ross of the BBC He said he hoped a parliamentary investigation
would also find out why the country's Excess Crude Account had fallen from $11.5
bn to under $2.5bn in a year - arguing that Nigeria's savings are a vital buffer
against any drop in the global oil price and without this "rainy day" account,
the economy is vulnerable and exposed.

October 2014; Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the Federal republic of Nig
eria uses a militant Asari Dokubo for black market gun running, evident from the
grounding and seizure of over $10m by the South African authorities.
September, 2014, The Nigerian Government admitted ferrying over $10m in a privat
e jet for arms procurement, where do we draw the line between money laundering a
nd arms procurement? I asked myself about the recent helos that was delivered by
Russia recently if it was purchased in the same manner, agree with me or not, J
onathan is neck deep not just in corruption but money laundering.
August 2014: As a result of the unabated corruption in the Nigerian Military, Mu

.
$11m emergency fund and N480m budgeted for the control of infectious diseases in
the 2013 budget never got to the Lagos state government, the Nigerian Ebola Epi
center.
Still in June, we saw the worst abuse of his Royal majesties powers when he barr

Jonathan, who was asked to comment on the allegations of corrupt practices levele
d against some of his ministers, had said that nobody was above mistakes and tha

more than six months in office. [b]Mere stealing we call corruption"
Still in the same month after the corrupt tales of embezzlement and diversion of
military budget, the clueless one finally offered Amnesty to a terrorist group,
the first of its kind, in the world.
An Indication that the Jonathan s administration is run by a den of thieves.
April 2014: reminded us the climax of Jonathan s administration where he went on a

r is a realistic score card on his strides on security.
January 2014, a presidential committee was set up to investigate the October sca
ndal of stella odua who came with a guilty verdict, yet she kept her job.
December 2013: ushered the yuletide of Obasanjo s before it is too late , several cor

July 2013: transparency international rated Nigeria as the 8th most corrupt coun
try in the world.
June 2013: World Bank appraised him thus;
Nevertheless, improvements in social welfare indicators have been much slower tha
n would be expected in the context of this growth. Poverty reduction and job cre
ation have not kept pace with population growth, implying social distress for an
increasing number of Nigerians. Progress toward the fulfillment of many of the
Millennium Development Goals has been slow, and the country ranked 153 out of 18
6 countries in the 2013 United Nations Human Development Index the World Bank sai

May 2013: The president after wasting tax payer s money on an entourage as long as
the third mainland bridge went sleeping while his foreign affairs minister repr
esented him in his presence during the AU summit in Addis ababa.
Just outside President Goodluck Jonathan's office sat 17 ambulances, just in cas
e he or one of his aides fell ill. They were seldom if ever used.
No actual health-care facility nationwide had as many, and in fact a few still h
ave none at all. But as soon as a Nigerian newspaper took a photo of the ambulan
ces and published a story about them, they suddenly disappeared -- probably to a
n underground garage.

ed presidential pardon to the biggest criminal in the history of our democracy,
Alamesigha to prepare him for a senatorial seat.

abu-kabu" at oronto douglas father s burial that error in judgment alone claimed t
he life of a sitting Governor. and the most brilliant NSA Nigeria has ever produ

October 2012: blatantly refusing to appeal the ICJ s decision on ceding bakassi, t

iweala's notepad?
How can you have external debt of 48bn usd and come home to deceive us that we h
ave reserves?
How much services that 48bn plus interest annually? Nearly 25% of 48bn.
August 2012: Under his watch militants earn 10% of the Nation's revenue, $22.5m,
$9m and $12.5m for tompolo, Ateke and Asari as national honors.

in contrast to what the transparency international claimed.

over 5, ooo Nigerian lives gone, Mr president is still trading words and negotia

ontent policy by importing 200 luxury brands at the cost of over 13.5 million ea
ch for a 4 day first ladies summit. While our manufacturing industries beg for p
atronage.
June 2012: Almost all teaching hospitals in Nigeria have no functional dialysis
machine, the most sought of this equipment cost just 5m naira. Statistics has it
that more than 60,000 Nigerians die yearly of a kidney related ailment, however

ferma is seriously patching federal highways with a budget of over 80 billion na
ira, there is no coordination between, the MND, NDDC and Federal ministry of wor

done.
JUNE 2012: Under his watch, the giant of oil and gas reserves is undergoing its
worst energy crisis in the world.

tanker drivers alone can cripple his supply network as they wish not to talk of
ordinary Niger republic coming to our rescue via imports.
In case you have not heard, Nigeria is very close to Afghanistan on security pro
gress under Jonathan's watch.
June 2012: Education is in crisis. With adult literacy at 57 per cent, overall i
lliteracy at 66 per cent and more than 10 million out of the 30 million children
of primary school age not in school, no serious government should be comfortabl
e. When 40 million adults in a population of 170 million are illiterate, the cou
ntry is ranked 161 out of 180 countries in the United Nations Comparative Index
of Literacy 2012, and has an unemployment rate of 23.7 per cent,

June 2012: Mr president s economic blind men have blessed us with all time high of

on that same vein, Nigeria has the second record high job cuts within the last 2
yrs, if in doubt ask the bankers and manufacturing industries.
before his ascension into power, the naira was in a sorry state of 150 to 1 doll
ar today, Jonathan has handed us an unstable 182 to 1 dollar
June 2012: The dana crash is a testimony that Mr president s aviation is comatose,
not even the attorney general could challenge the allegations of the dana staff
in court, in a national disaster of that magnitude?
The girl could have served as a prime witness in a class action against dana
Less than 6months of inconclusive investigations, DANA air hit the Tarmac again.
Still on military, Nigeria has the most under educated junior military officers,
before you ask how, Mr president is too lazy to ask him self why imo with highe
st national examination enrollments still have the least NDA and police academy
enrollments, while borno and zamfara as educationally less privileged, have high
er quota than Delta and Anambra put together in military enrollments. Nepotism a
nd corruption at its best
Mr President is the only head of state in the world whose wife is a ministry of
its own.

January 2012: Under Mr president s watch, a 250bilion subsidy programme rose to 2

trillion naira yet no arrest, no conviction, no sack, the best miserable Nigeria

Mr President is the only president in the world whose parliament gulps 75% of th
e national budget as alleged by the CBN Gov. yet they still soak themselves in $
625m bribery scandal.
Jonathan has not even initiated let alone fulfilling a single campaign promises
except the one that he needs to surround himself with brain dead women in his ca

Nigerians say thank you Sir, for your 6 wasted years of leadership.
VOTE GOODLUCK JONATHAN AT YOUR OWN RISK!! AFTER VOTING HIM, DON'T COMPLAIN WHEN
