TheDynamicResponseprogramisdesignedtocomputethedynamicresponsesofastructuresubjectedtodynamicexcitationduetobasemotionsuchasinan
earthquake,ordynamicforcesduetoperiodicvibrationorimpactloads.Theprogramcananalyzebasedrivensystemswithinputdescribedeitherasaspectralinputoras
atimehistoryinput,andforcedrivensystemswithinputdescribedbyasetofperiodforcesortimehistoryforces.
1.2PROGRAMFEATURES
DynamicResponseanalysisrequiresdynamicmodeshapeandmassfilesinadditiontoaDynamicResponseinputfile.

Theanalysistypeisenteredincolumns710ontheDROPTline.EnterSPEC,TIME,VIBR,WINDorENGVforspectralearthquake,timehistoryearthquake,
forcedrivenperiodicortimehistory,spectralwindorenginevibrationanalysis,respectively.Enter'TCLP'togenerateincrementalloadsforforce/timehistorycollapse

2.1.2Damping
Dampingfactorscanhaveaprofoundeffectonanalysisresults.Theprogramhastheabilitytoconsiderbothstructuralandfluiddamping.

CalculatingFluidDampingAutomatically
Whenfluiddampingiscalculatedbytheprogram,thevaluesarebasedonthenonlinearforcesonthestructure.Forspectralanalysis,anequivalentdampingratiois
determinedbasedonaparticularamplitude.
EnterPCincolumns78iftheprogramistocalculatefluiddampingautomatically.Ifnonlineardampingistobeused,enterNLincolumns910.Fortimehistory
