ximum workin
ng
pressuree before relieff valve (Retain
ner bolt) beco
omes open ablee,
and to test for the maximum
m
presssure before thee manifold wiill
begin too swell (burst point)

valve (figuree #3).

6)) Turn on thee City Water rrunning @ 52-56F (11-13C)

manifold.
7)) Close bleedd-off valve (Figgure #3) after aall air is purged

8)) Pump the H
Hydrostatic Teest Pump to thee manifolds raated
working prressure of 75 PSI at the samee time monitor the
3 Relief V
Valves (Retainner Bolts) for open able sttate
(leakage) annd PSI value ((figure #4). Reecord the resultt as
No Leaks or PSI valuee at which it oopened (Pressu
ures
Between 0--75 PSI).
9)) If Retainerr Bolts (Relieef Valves) beccomes open able
a
(leakage) skkip steps 10-11 and record C
Constant Work

pressure as Leaks.
100) Close the Pressure Holld Valve (Figgure #2) to hold
pressure @ 75 PSI for 1 hour, and reccord the work
king
pressure ressult as No Leaaks or Leakss.
1 1) Open Presssure Hold Valve (Figure #22) and pump the
Hydrostaticc Test Pump until either thhe three retainer
bolts (Reliief Valves) bbecome open able (leakag
ge).
Record thee PSI value at which the Relief Valvee(s)
become opeen able.

Note: for ssafety purposees, swelling tesst will be donee to
determine point before b
burst.
122) Connect thhe Victaulic Cap Ends annd the Victau

133) Open all vaalves wide openn (Figure #6).
144) Pump Hyddrostatic Test P
Pump to increease pressure and
a
carefully m
monitor the Mannifold for first signs of Swelling
(Figure #7)). Record Pressure values at which this occcurs
(Figure #8)) and maximum
m pressure testeed.
155) Close the Pressure Holld Valve (Figgure #2) to hold
pressure @ the maximuum pressure too be tested for 1
hour, checkk manifold foor leaks and record results in
conclusion..
166) Finish testt by openingg Bleed-off vvalve to remo

Conclu
usion:
v relief valvees (retainer boltts), Cap Gaskeets, Seals, and W
Welds occurredd during the staandard workinng pressure testt of
No sweelling or leaks via
75 PSI. For safety, th
he manifold waas pressurized to
t a maximum of 200 PSI andd no destructivve burst occurreed nor leakage at any point.
Swellinng occurred bettween 160-170
0 PSI as seen in
n figure #7.
Therefoore Unique Weelding & Fabriccating Ltd. reco
ommends a maaximum safe w
working pressurre of 75 PSI, annd a maximum
m safety factor
burst working pressurre of 120 PSI.
