Question 1 (50 marks)

You are required to assemble a computer system for the PACS workstation (Picture Archiving &
Communications System).
For case given above, you are required to write a report with the following format:
1) Introduction Briefly describe the usage and general requirements for the system (5 marks)
2) Detailed specifications with strong convincing justifications. (5 marks each)
a. CPU
b. Motherboard
c. RAM
d. Input devices
e. Output devices
f. Storage devices
g. Display card
h. Communication Interfaces
i. Operating Systems
3) Guide:- For each of the above devices, you are required to provide descriptions,
recommended specifications, justifications, costing and examples.
Question 2 (50 marks)
Many industries nowadays are using information system in their daily operations. No doubts that
information system can help to improve efficiency of business processes, save cost and become
competitive advantage to the organization. Information system consists of People, Hardware,
Software, Data and Procedures.
Choose ONE(1) information system that you are familiar with from any of the industries, e.g. Food
industry, automobile, flights, hotel, manufacturing, bank, healthcare..etc. Critically discuss the
FIVE(5) components of the information system related to it. (Each components 10 marks)
