Please read the textbooks. The publishers slides that are on SLATE are a basic outline.
We test from the texts and NOT from the slides.
CLASSROOM POLICIES
Attendance:
Attendance is not mandatory, but is highly recommended.
It is your responsibility to catch up any missed material.
If you have a medical condition, please provide documentation by week 2.
If you are with Learning Services, please provide documentation by week 2.
Behavior:
Please be polite and consider others.
If you distract or disturb others, you will be asked to leave the room.
The rule in my classroom is that if I am talking, I expect you to show me respect and be
quiet.
Similarly, if you are talking I will show you respect and I will be quiet.
Late Arrival:
Please take your seat quietly.
It is your responsibility to catch up any missed material.
Mobile Devices:
For lectures in class, all cellphones and pagers should be turned off.
For in-class activities, mobile devices are allowed.
If mobile devices are on, please use headphones and low volume.

EVALUATION POLICIES
Attendance:
Attendance does not count towards your final grade.
Honesty:
Penalties apply to cases of academic integrity.
Please see the official Sheridan policy (https://policy.sheridanc.on.ca/default.aspx). You will need to
log in using your Sheridan user id and password.
Participation:
Participation in class does not count towards your final grade.
Tests:
If you arrive late, and someone has left the room, you may not enter. Your test grade will be 0.
If you arrive late, you will only be allowed the remaining time.
If you leave the room, please hand in your test. You will not get it back.
If you miss the test, please contact me asap explain your absence.
Place your name on the test, scantron sheet, and all test materials.
Turn off your phone and all other mobile devices. No headphones allowed.
No one is allowed to leave the room for the first hour of the test; if you are finished,
please sit quietly until you can leave.
You must use a pencil to fill in the scantron sheet; make sure you have a pencil and
erasor with you. You may not borrow.
You will need a calculator; your phone is not acceptable. You may not borrow.
You may speak only to me once the test has begun.
This is a double sided test so please fold your pages under the test paper.
If you are with Learning Services and decide to write the test in class, you will be allowed
the same time that the class is allowed.
Once you are allowed to leave, please leave quietly. Do not stand about outside of the
classroom.
Project work:
Projects are to be done in-groups with no more than 4 to a group. Groups of one are
permitted.
Select your groups wisely.
The group mark is also each individuals mark.
Faculty do not create the groups.
All project deliverables are due by the due date and time as stated on the drop box.
Work submitted after the due date/time is penalized 10% per day, up to 50%.
It will not be marked if it is more than 5 days late.
The 10% penalty applies for every day the homework is late, including weekends and
holidays.
The penalty applies to all group members.
All group members are expected to contribute to every group activity.

All group members are expected to know who did what part and where/how they
obtained that information.
The excuse I did not know he/she copied from the internet (or any source) will not be
accepted.
The project leader must track what sections were given to which group member.
APA format is to be used for citing references.

The average of your 2 tests must be 50% or greater in order to pass this course.
Your final course grade must be 50% or greater in order to pass this course.
