The roll pack with its self-contained forces and the novel
machine frame design in conjunction with the paneling insulation
reduce the noise level considerably. These features guarantee
top reliability in continuous round-the-clock operation while
ensuring a consistent grinding quality.
Universal application
Antares comes with a large number of options and accessories
to cater for any installation situation and to satisfy any product
requirement. The roller mill can be installed flexibly, both in terms
of the drive configuration and of the conveying pipes, which can
run through the machine. Whether you process maize, wheat,
durum, rye, barley, or malt Antares is the ideal roller mill for
processing all grain varieties.

Reliable product feeding


The gravimetric captering of the product across a wide
inlet and the continuous variation of the feed roll speed
allow uniform feed of the product to the grinding rolls and
create the conditions for achieving perfect grinding results.
Easy access
The paneling components, which can be easily swung
up, allow thorough cleaning and easy maintenance. In
addition, the inlet sight glass can quickly and easily be
removed for cleaning.

Complete product discharge


The swing-out feed module allows quick and complete
product emptying.
Ergonomic operation
Convenient handles ensure a secure grip during
production. The new ergonomic clamping device of the
grinding gap adjustment mechanism is ideally matched to
the of the flour millers manipulations.

Powerful grinding performance


The compact roller pack with its self-contained forces
is characterized by its high adjustment accuracy and
grinding stability and is distinguished by its perfectly
constant grinding performance. The durable toothed belt
power transmission ensures easy maintenance, low-noise
operation, and an oil-free roller mill floor.
Safety all around
Safety has a very high priority with Antares! All the moving
parts are guarded by rugged paneling to prevent access,
and the panels can only be opened with a key. The machine
control system monitors the operating parameters and
ensures high operating reliability through:
Monitoring of the incoming product (level sensor)
Zero-speed detection of the feed rollers
Speed monitoring of the grinding rollers
Product back-up sensors between the two roll pairs of
the MDDT eight-roller mill

In case of unusual operation conditions, the control


system will pneumatically disengage the rolls.
Options:
Automatic grinding gap adjustment system
Antares can be equipped whenever required with an
automatic grinding gap adjustment system, which allows
fast and reproducible recipe changes in production.
Water cooling system
The water cooling system of the front roller serves
to additionally cool the product under high ambient
temperatures conditions.

Data management.
The local command center
Each Antares is equipped with a cutting-edge local
control system with display and convenient user interface.
Operating parameters are monitored and the machine is
smartly controlled.
The Cockpit roller floor control system
Production on one or more roller mill floors can be
controlled and monitored through the WinCoS.r2 process
automation system or through a stand-alone PC, with the
following additional functions:
C@re maintenance program (optional):
This function periodically displays when and what kind of
maintenance and servicing are due.
Grinding gap management system (optional):
Adjustment and management of the grinding gap allows
fast and fully automatic recipe changes, thus ensuring
reproducibility and quality.
Operating condition monitoring system (optional):
An online oscillation sensor on the roll bearings monitors
the operating condition and detects abnormal conditions
of the rolls and bearings before trouble occurs.
The window on the process: WinCoS.r2
WinCoS.r2 is more than an automation solution. It controls
and monitors your plant in order to maintain production
at a high level in terms of efficiency, uptime, flexibility, and
economy. This process control system offers, for example,
real-time readings of operating characteristics, data
management for product traceability, or integration with
higher-level IT systems.

Short downtimes.

Roller removal and roll-out devices


The roller pack is removed and exchanged as an entire
unit. Thanks to the Quickpack fastening system, only two
bolts have to be loosened.
Standard removal device, type MDDX-H
This manual roll removal device allows safe and fast roll
pack changes. It comprises:
Roller pack removal device
Roller pack cart for transport
Bearing pack cart for bearing changes
Roll-out device, type MDDX-R
The manual roll-out device has been designed for tight
space conditions. It consists of a roll-out support with
accessories and extensions.

Just-in-time roller service


The Buhler Customer Service organization offers you
flexible service packs for your plant. They range from roller
reconditioning to maintenance management depending
on your specific needs.
Antares PITSTOP
In order to make sure that your high-performance machine
will be in a top condition and available in all situations, the
Buhler Customer Service organization offers you specially
assembled spare parts packs.
TITAN corrugated rollers longer service life
The optional TITAN corrugated rollers extend the roller
service life by as much as 50%.
