Aug 2009 to Oct 2009 Web E-Learning Developer – Department of
National Defence
 Worked for Office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG).
 Employed as a consultant using e-learning tools, particularly Adobe Captivate 3 (formerly known as Robohelp), to
develop web-based training material.
 Created a Style Guide for Documentation which consisted of guidelines to follow while creating e-learning
material.
 Learned and used Captivate 3 and JAG’S electronic document management system (RDIMS). RDMIS is very
similar to CDMIS which I used at Indian and Northern Affairs (Jan 08 – Mar 08).
 Learned and used JAGnet (an internal network for searching and sharing legal information).
 Designed and completed two web-based e-learning training modules based on detailed lesson plans.

Jan 2008 to Mar 2008 Courseware Developer/Technical Writer - Indian


and Northern Affairs
 Responsible for the Certificate of Indian Status (CIS) Style Guide for Documentation which consisted of the
guidelines to follow while creating material. Worked in a team environment, attended weekly meetings to update
the program manager on the progress of this project.
 Used the CIS Mobile Application Centre (MAC) System on a daily basis which is a high profile project to ensure
that first nations people are issued personal identification cards. Provided daily testing on this system and report
issues.
 Using the CIS Style Guide, edited 5 modules of this project.
 Created Help files for English and French Guides using Microsoft HTML Help Editor in English and French.
 Used Comprehensive Integrated Document Management (CIDMS 5) to create, save, classify, search, edit, delete
mail.
 Used Groupwise to create outgoing messages and confirm location of files on a daily basis.
 Reviewed the Project Plan for Training done in MS Project 3.0.
 Arranged for French translation and accuracy of all material.
 Responsible for the CIS Documentation and Training Plan which involved recording all ideas and recommended
changes.
 Assisted in the testing of the IRRS database, which holds information about first nations people. Uploaded info to
the IRRS database. Ensured accuracy of new data uploaded from the remote site.
 Reported discrepancies while testing to the key programmer. Prepared a 25 page document of suggestions to this
product.
 Used Microsoft Office 2003, Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as Snagit to capture screens for the training
manual.
 Responsible for the Translation Estimates for the system (labels, messages and Help) and Training Material.
 Maintained the Secure CIS Master Document List and the IRS/CIS Master Document List from 2004.

Jul 2007 to Aug 2007 Courseware Analyst/Technical Writer – CMHC


 Prepared and conducted a project to evaluate whether Word 2003 was capable of replacing Pagemaker 7 for
producing corporate reports. Provided CMHC with a 20-page report showing how Word could be used for these
documents and showing the pros and cons. Created a 20-page reproduction of a Pagemaker document using Word.
Used CMHC IRMS system.

 Prepared and coordinated illustrations and diagrams for production manual using Word, PowerPoint and Visio
software. Prepared, delivered and processed several technical documents by observing the product assembly process
in a clean room environment. Conducted client interviews, took pictures, edited documentation prepared in Word
and created camera-ready copy using Word. Used JDS Uniphase document management system.

 Developed e-learning web-based curriculum training to Computer Alarm Technicians on Windows, Word
and PowerPoint. The program included using a learning course management tool (LCMS) called Blackboard
to post on-line notes and testing for class. Established training functions on project as well as maintaining the
training portion of the Project schedule. Prepared weekly status reports. Implemented my own courseware.
Created a course evaluation report.
