Job Responsibilities:

1. Planning, Scheduling and performing servers critical data backup

2. Preparing business continuality plan and mitigate risk for critical business
operations
3. Preparing documentation for servers, firewall and other important services
4. Servers performance and uptime monitoring, and taking appropriate action
5. Working on new business requirements, budget estimations, servers sizing.
6. Planning and implementing servers hardware and software up gradations
7. Provide advise to end users on hardware and software requirements
8. Supervise and participate in the ongoing maintenance of the server, network
and firewall environment
9. Troubleshoot and repair all server related problems in a timely manner
10. Develop and maintain a server recovery plan to meet critical SRT (Server
restoration time)
11. Ensure and maintain the system availability, data and system security
12. Develop subordinates technical skills
13. Vendor management to ensure better service in affordable way
14. Market analysis of Information technology
15. Help all departments in assuring that the highest level of customer
satisfaction is maintained at all the times.
16. Preparing procedures and policies to set process
17. Software inventory management and coordinating with Microsoft, Symantec,
Autodesk and other software vendors.

Daily Activities:

Management of client production web servers (IIS6 and IIS7) and MS SQL 2k5
database servers

Deployment and post deployment issues of A-mantra product at client

locations of USB, HSBC, ICICI, CSC, IBM Daksh, Wipro, ISB, Vatika and many
others...

Sonicwall NSA 240: Outbound and inbound restrictions to the network,

bandwidth monitoring, ISP failover, Qos and bandwidth sharing

Symantec Endpoint protection: To protect against virus and spyware, protect

end points to safe guard data leakage.

Squid proxy: To share Internet for network with access control lists.

Monitoring: Monitoring all supporting and production servers for high

availability with servers live. Server performance through Munin open source.
Inbound and outbound firewall logs monitoring through viewpoint. Users web
browsing monitoring through Sarg. Physical monitoring of servers and office
through CCTV cameras.

Backups

Symantec Veritas 10: Daily, weekly and monthly backup of servers critical
data backup on tapes and ensure that to maintain off site backup

Symantec Veritas backup system recovery: maintain servers image

backup trice a week to ensure and meet critical server restoration time

Version control (SVN and VSS): All on going and maintenance projects will be
done through SVN and VSS

Database: Performing production database My SQL and MS SQL day-to-day

activities of backups, permissions, log clear and issues checking

Web Server: In-house and hosted Production IIS and Apache web servers dayto-day activities of backups, web sites creating, ftp access, web stats
configuring, configuring PHP, perl and issues checking. Domain registrations,
hosting, domain/website transferring, mail server migration, etc.

Mail server: Maintenance of Windows 2003 exchange server, integrated with

RBL to reduce spam. Taking Backups of mailboxes and server storage on daily
basis, PDA outlook mobile access and sync. Fixing mail related issues.

Asterisk: Open source freeEPBX server configured for inbound and outbound
call activity of our in-house call center.
