Data collection
How did we decide on the data to collect? Was it useful?
Unit parts of flowering plant and habitat was undertaken during ‘Vanmahotsav’. Children
actively participated in various activities. During this course they were introduced the subject
parts of plant. They did detail study of various parts of root, types of root, stem, leaves etc
along with their functions. Children loved to dissect flowers. They even collected dried stem
in which phloem tissues were visible to naked eye.
They visited nursery and Choithram campus on separate occasions to study flora and
fauna along with habitat. They enthusiastically collected samples of various leaves, flower
and insects. Task was given to them but as they are new to the Assessment task they have not
performed up to the expectation. Students need time to understand the importance of task and
I am sure that next task will be completed with more sincerity.
