2x dc in 1st ch;
petal 2:
leaving last loop of each stitch on hook,
3x dc in ch indicated;
petal 3:

3x dc in ch indicated;

chain of chains with x stitches (b)

(b)

you define how many chains you want

to crochet between the little flowers 20 chains give e.g. a beautiful breezy look

x single crochets in the chain of chains (b)

then x = (number of desired chains - 6) / 2

Examples:
chains between flowers
12
20
30

x
3 (= (12 - 6) / 2)
7 (= (20 - 6) / 2)
12 (= (30 - 6) / 2)

(a) number of chains in row 1 (setup row):

start ch + (number of flowers in row 2 - 1) * (2 * x + 2 * 6) + 6 + end chain
Examples:
(that's how I crocheted the example on the pictures)
number of flowers in row 2 = 15
length of chain of chains = 20 ch
x = (20 - 6) / 2 = 7 ch
number of chains in row 1 (setup row) = 1 + (15 - 1) * (2 * 7 + 2 * 6) + 6 + 1 = 372 ch
number of flowers in row 2 = 10
length of chain of chains = 30 ch
x = (30 - 6) / 2 = 12 ch
number of chains in row 1 (setup row) = 1 + (10 - 1) * (2 * 12 + 2 * 6) + 6 + 1 = 332 ch
