FEATURES

Below mentioned features of Casual Restaurants Chains and Coffee Shop Chains
have been prepared after doing secondary research. These can be tweaked further
based on the requirement of study.
Casual Restaurant Chain:

These are primarily chain restaurants

Variety of food prepared at these restaurants is more than that of fast food

restaurants
No full table service is provided
Non-disposable cutleries are provided
Quality and price tend to be higher than the conventional fast food restaurant
Open kitchens are popular
Food is often served on platters and diners serve themselves

Example: Haldirams, Sagar Ratna, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Barbeque Nation
Note:
If service of non-disposable cutleries is considered, Dominos would not be the part
of this category. However, Pizza Hut would qualify for being a Casual Restaurant
Chain. Dominos is a primary competitor of Pizza Hut.
McDonalds would be the part of fast food restaurant chain, thus would not be
considered.
Coffee Shop Chain:

An outlet without table service that primarily serves coffee and other beverages
A limited selection of other items are also offered, such as pastries and

sandwiches
One orders food from the counter and seats himself/ herself
It allows patrons to relax and socialize in its premise for a long period of time
without pressure to leave promptly after eating; and so chosen mostly as one of

the sites for meeting

In some cases, outdoor seating is also provided

Example: Starbucks, Caf Coffee Day, Barista, Costa Coffee
