When AC plug is in, plug voltage is applied to fuse and filter of P board.
After passing the standby converter T201, plug voltage is converted to 5V.
5V is supplied to A board via P5/A5 and P6/A6 terminal.
5V through the A5 terminal is supplied to IC4601 and IC4602.
5V is converted to 3.3V and 1.2V by these 2 ICs.
Both 3.3V and 1.2V are supplied to HDMI SW/DVI interface IC4701.
On the other hand, 5V passing the P6/A6 terminal is used as STNDBY voltage.
This STANDBY voltage is supplied to V2 board via A22/V22 terminal.
5V is applied to SW1551 of V2 board.
When the customer press the power switch button, SW1551 is ON.
After SW1551 was ON, 5V is supplied to A board again via A6 terminal with 5 usages follows.
1)Supplied to SUB CPU IC4801 and IC4801 recognizes that power switch ON.
2)Supplied to DS board for SLOT and LAN operation.
3)Supplied to RM1505 of V1 board via HX board.
RM1505 is remote control receiver. There is no process of passing the HX board.
4)5V is supplied to IC4508 and IC4504 EEP. These 2 ICs are combined to main CPU IC4501.
5)5V is supplied to IC4001 Speaker amp.
On/OFF command by remote control is received by RM1505 of V2 board.
This command is sent to sub CPU IC4801.
By receiving this command, IC4801 recognizes the ON/OFF command of remote control.

Slide 7

2 (3). Power On Operation

6

After receiving remote control ON command, IC4801 switch ON Q4124/Q4117.

After Q4124/4117 was ON,5V is supplied to P board via A6/P6 terminal.

5V from Q4124/4117 is supplied to Power Factor Circuit of P board.

This circuit supplies the plug voltage to sub converter T301 and main converter T401.

IC4801 SW ON the Q4601 and 5V is supplied to IC4603, IC4604 and IC4605.

IC4603 convert 5V to 3.3V and supply to IC4501 main CPU.
IC4604 and IC4605 convert 5V to 1.8V and 1.2V.
Both 1.8V and 1.2V are supplied to IC 4501 main CPU and IC4701 LVDS receiver.

IC4801 send ON command to sub converter T301 via A4/P4 terminal.

Sub converter T301 converts the plug voltage to 16V.
This 16V is distributed to IC4001 speaker amp. of A board and DS board via A13 terminal.
15V supplied to DS board is called FSTB15V and used as power of slot / LAN at DS board.

10

IC4801 send ON command to main converter T401 via A5/P5 terminal.

Main converter T401 converts the plug voltage to 24V.
24V is supplied to backlight and inverter of LCD panel via P2/P3 terminal.
Another 24V is supplied to A board via P5/A5 terminal.

11

After start supplying 24V, IC4801 send ON command toIC4607.

IC4607 has 2 function.
1)Power switch for LCD panel driver and the other is the converter of 24V to 12V.
2)Supplly 12V to LCD panel driver via A1 terminal.

STBY 5V is start generating after plug in.

STBY 5V is supplied to A board via P6/A6 terminal.
After entering A board,STBY5V is sent to
1)V1 board for remote control receiver via A7 terminal
2)V2 board for power press switch via A22 terminal
3)DS board for slot and LAN operation via A13 terminal.

After receiving power ON command (from SUB CPU IC4801)

MCU5V is started to supply.
MCU5V is supplied to A board via P5/A5 terminal.
After entering A board, this 5V is distributed to Q4601,IC4601 and IC4602.
5V is converted to 1.8V and 1.2V by IC4601 and IC4602.
Both 1.8V and 1.2V are supplied to main CPU IC4501.

Q4601 is the switch function and receiving power on command from sub CPU IC4801.
After SW ON, 5V is supplied to IC4605,IC4604 and IC4603.
5V is converted to 1.2V,1.8V and 3.3V by IC4605,IC4604 and IC4603.
1.2V,1.8V and 3.3V are supplied to Main CPU IC4501.
Only 3.3V is supplied to IC4201 LVDS Receiver, too.

Slide 11

3 (3). Voltage Distribution

4

There is IC4202 next to IC4603.

MCU5V is converted to 3.3V by IC4603.
After this procedure,3.3V is converted to 1.8V by IC4202.
1.8V is supplied to IC4201 LVDS receiver.
After receiving power ON command (from A board) P board start supplying 16V.
16V is supplied to A board via P4/A4 terminal.
1)15V is supplied to IC4001 speaker amp.
2)15V is supplied to DS board via A13/DS13 terminal.
After entering to DS board,15V is used to SLOT/LAN operation.
Next step to above process, P board receive another power ON command from A board.
P board start supplying 24V.
24V is supplied to inverter circuit and back light circuit of LCD panel side via P2/P3 terminal.
Another way, 24V is supplied to A board via P5/A5 terminal, too.

Video Signal
The function of A board is the processor of incoming video signals and audio signals.
The video input signal format can be Y/C, or Y, Pb, Pr.
A comb filter, inside IC4501 converts the composite video signal of the main picture to Y and C
(luminance and chrominance) signals.
At the completion of this process, the format of the composite or HDMI/DVI input (Digital Video Interface)
Video signal is now the same as a digital component signal.
If the incoming video is in the 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p format, the Y, Pb, and Pr signals undergo
A/D (analog to digital) conversion only.
Finally all picture signals are converted to 1080p.
This Video Process section of the IC4501 performs all picture control operations such as brightness,
contrast, color, tint, etc.
On Screen Display data such as adjustment item are mixed with the video data. LVDS (Low Voltage
Differential Signaling) is output to LCD panel from A1 terminal.

Audio Signal
All audio signal input are sent to IC4501.
Same IC as video signal processor.
All input audio signal is converted to digital signal (A/D convert ) before entering to the audio signal
processing.
Audio signal is processed by digital format.
After passing audio signal process, audio signal is converted to analogue format signal and sent to
audio amp IC4001.
Audio signal is amplified by this IC4001 and sent to the speaker.
