Using the physical Server 2012 R2 system you have 2 hours to
complete the following:
1) Open up Performance Monitor (Lesson 3)
Click on the green + icon and add the following counters:
Processor:%Processor Time
Paging File:%Usage
Physical Disk:%Disk Time
Memory: %Committed Bytes in Use
Confirm the 4 charts for all counters are present

2) Install Distributed File System Namespace (Lesson 4)

Under File And Storage Services File and iSCSI Services
install the DFS
Namespaces

3) Create a DFS NameSpace(Lesson 4)

Open Server Manager and go to Tools DFS Management
Right-click on Namespaces and select New Namespace
Type in the name of your Server on the Namespace Server
screen
Type in 2413 for the Namespace Name
Select default setting to create and complete installation
4) Install File Server Resource Manager(Lesson 5)
Under File And Storage Services File and iSCSI Services
install the File
Server Resource Manager

5) Create Quota Template (Lesson 5)

Open Server Manager and go to Tools File Server
Resource Manager
Expand Quota Management and right-click on Quota
Template
Create Quota Template named: 2413-Final
Set the Space Limit to 350MB Hard Quota
Click the Add button
Set the generate notifications to 89% and send email to the
user who
exceeded the threshold then click OK to create quota
template

6) Create Quota from Quota Template (Lesson 5)

Open Server Manager and go to Tools File Server
Resource Manager
Expand the Quota and right-click on Quota
Create quota and select the C:\StorageReports as the
Quota path
Under Derive Properties select the 2413-Final quota
template
Click Create to assign that template to the folder.

7) Encrypt a Folder using EFS (Lesson 6)

Using Windows Explorer navigate to the C:\Perflogs folder
Right-click on the folder and select Properties
Click the General Tab then click Advanced
Select Encrypt contents to secure data

Click OK and OK again to close

8) Install BitLocker (Lesson 6)

Open up Server Manager and click Add Roles and Features
From the Features page select BitLocker Drive Encryption
Close and Reboot Windows

9) Install the DNS Server Role (Lesson 8)

Open up Server Manager and click Add Roles and Features
Select the DNS Server

10)Open DNS Manager console to create a DNS Forward

Zone Name: 2413.local (select default settings)
Create A record: file ; IP address = 10.0.0.32
Create A record: ftp ; IP address = 10.0.0.33
Create A record: web ; IP address = 10.0.0.34
Create MX record: mail ; Priority 15
Create MX record: mail2 ;Priority 20
Create MX record: mail3 ; Priority 25

11)Install Routing and Remote Access Role (Lesson 10)

Open up Server Manager and click Add Roles and Features
Select the Remote Access role
Select DirectAccess and VPN (RAS) and Routing
Click next and confirm installation then close

12) Install Active Directory Domain Services Role (Lesson 16)

Install the Active Directory Domain Services role from Server
Manager
After installation click on the AD DS from the left Dashboard
Click on configuration required and promote this server
Add a new forest called 2413.local
Input DSRM Password: Server2012
Create NetBIOS domain name 2413Server and finish
installation

13) Audit Account Login

(Lesson 7)
Install Group Policy Management Feature in Server Manager
Open up Server Manager Tools Group Policy Management
Expand Domain Controllers and right click on Default Domain
Controller
Default Policy and click Edit
Expand Computer Configuration Policies Windows Setting
Security
Setting Local Policies and select Audit Policy
Double-click Audit account logon events and audit logon events
Select Define these policy settings and select both Success and
Failure
Click OK to close
