period of one year after date of shipment. Chroma agrees to repair or replace any assembly
or component found to be defective, under normal use during this period. Chroma's
obligation under this warranty is limited solely to repairing any such instrument, which in

System Structure
This chapter explains the structure and functions of Chroma DC Power Supply 62000B
Series Soft Panel application. The supported instruments and communication protocols
with PC are listed below for users to identify the required environment easily.
1.1
Introduction
This software is applicable to Chroma DC Power Supply 62000B Series instruments only.
The remote transmission between PC and DC Power Supply must be active before using the
software in order to communicate by commands.
The software application can control 30 sets of DC Power Supply that can work either
stand-alone, in parallel or series to monitor and control voltage as well as current. It can
also edit the output voltage and current to change as time goes by. In addition the software
is able to save the parameter settings so that users can open an existing file for execution
from hard disk easily.

Communication Interface
There are two types of communication interfaces between PC and DC Power Supply.
A.
B.
CAN Bus (NI USB-8473 or ADLINK PCI-7841 interface card has to be installed on PC
site.)
Ethernet (TCP/IP communication protocol has to be installed on PC site.)

Installation
Before using Chroma 62000B Soft Panel, the drivers of NI VISA Run Time Engine, NI IVI
Run Time Engine and NI CVI Run Time Engine have to be installed in the OS. The driver of
NI USB-8473 or ADLINK PCI-7841 has to be installed if CAN bus interface is in use. This
chapter describes how to install the software on Windows step by step. Please place the
software CD of Chroma 62000B Soft Panel into the CD drive.

When Sampling is selected, click Browse to choose the path and filename for recording file
and set the Record Total Time and Time Interval at the right. Last click Record Start to
start recording.
The meaning of trigger: It records the event of the moment when it happens.
The meaning of event:
1. The output turns to ON from OFF.
2. The output turns to OFF from ON.

output. There are List and Step two editing modes. List mode is able to edit the voltage
waveforms that varied within specification and output them repeatedly; while Step mode can
edit the rising or falling waveform output with specific increment or decrement. It follows the
Sampling Time (ms) interval to draw the voltage, current and power readings curves
continuously when the unit outputs. It can also record the measured value into report. For
the descriptions of Status Monitor, Measurement Graph Area and Other Buttons, please see
the related sections in Chapter 5.
