This week we are learning:
Circle Time Review
This week in circle time we will continue
to review the days of the week, months
of the year, and the weather. Then we
will review all of the vocabulary we
learned from the previous unit, under the
sea. I will then use the rainforest
flashcards to introduce all of the new
vocabulary that we will focus on for the
next two weeks.
This week in phonics circle time we are
going to review days of the week and
weather. We are then going to warm up
using actions and daily routines. We will
review the lower case phonic alphabet.

Locations: In The Rainforest


Activity Time

This week in activity time we will focus on the new vocabulary that we will be learning for
this unit. We will play games, sing songs, and do worksheets that focus on the students
reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Activities: Rainforest hunt outdoor activity. Students have to respond to commands in
groups in order to find their way around and out of the rainforest. Creating a rainforest
wall display of childrens work. Exploring the animals of the rainforest and how they
interlink with each other.
Songs/videos: Watching videos of the rainforest and naming what we see. Wallking in
the Jungle song.
Games: Snake races, bowling, spelling races, crocodile game, hopscotch.
Worksheets: Rainforest vowel worksheet, colouring worksheets.

Review
Phonics
This week in phonics the class will
continue to work through the Oxford
Phonics world 1 booklet. We are going
to complete unit 7 (S s, T t, U u, V v)
and 8 (W w, X x, Y y, Z z) this week
which includes letters and vocabulary.
We are going to use the flash cards to
sound out the letters and learn the
new vocabulary. We will play games
such as what;s missing and
pictionary to practice the
understanding of the class. We will
then complete several exercises in the
workbook, doing each question at a
time. We will as a group sound out all
the vocabulary and then write down
the correct answers. At the end of the
week we will do a review of the entire
phonetic alphabet.

Dear Parents. Please practise English as
where they will practice writing in
much as possible with your child and ask
their handwriting booklets. We are
them their name, age and where they are
looking for correct shape and size.
from. Also please encourage the students
to practice their phonic alphabets at home
and spelling words using the phonic
alphabet. This is good practice to help
with reading. Please also encourage your
child to listen to the Youtube link to the
phonic alphabet.
