ABOUT CITRONICS
CITRONICS is a Techno-management fest organized every year by Chameli Devi Group of Institutions, Indore.
The first edition of CITRONICS was organized in the year 2009 with a sole intention of providing an impetus to
the talented minds of engineering and management students of India to display their talent. The previous
editions of this Mega event in which more than 100 Techno Management colleges participated, was
sponsored by MPCST Bhopal, UCO Bank, ROTOMAC and Bank of India. Under the banner of CITRONICS, we
have organized various state and national Level ROBOT design competitions during the previous years. This
year the event is scheduled to be held from 18-03-2015 to 20-03-2015.

than 3000 students from
100 different Techno

The success of the two state level


events encouraged us to organise
CITRONICS at National level. During
2011-12, it was Organised at the
National level and was sponsored
by ROTOMAC and Co-sponsored
by MPCST Bhopal. There were
around 23 techno-management
events conducted and more than
4500 students from 6 different
states participated. The overall
champion of the event was CDGI
and the runner up team was IIMET
Jaipur (Rajastan). The rolling
trophy was however awarded to the
runner up team as a mark of good
will and encouragement to IIMET
Jaipur (Rajastan) Team.

After successful completion of


ROTOMAC-CITRONICS-2011, the
mega event was also organised in
2012-13. The main sponsorer of
CITRONICS 2012-13 was Bank of
India. The
co-sponsors of the Bank of India
CITRONICS-2013 was MPCST Bhopal
and AAKG Group Nagpur. Apart from
BOI and AAKG, there were other
organisations such as Edosquare,
Step-up Dance, Bonton, Abacus,
Charak Hospital and Chocolate Room.
Participation by students from other
states in this edition of CITRONICS was
quite encouraging and again this time
the host institution emerged as the
winner and SVITS Indore was the
runner up. The rolling trophy was
handed over to the runners up team.

CITRONICS-2014, A national level mega event was


organized in CDGI campus from 11th march to 14th
march, 2014. It is an annual techno-management fest in
which all technical and management institutions
recognized by AICTE are eligible to participate.
The show stopper events were, Robo Race, Robo War, Call
Of Duty, Random Robotics, Electronics Junkyard,
Photography, CADD champion, Mind over Mechanics and
Funky Selling Ideas.
Several non technical competitions like technical quiz,
vocal and instrumental music, treasure hunt, tattoo
making, gully cricket, volley ball, football and nail art
photography were also organized to provide
entertainment for the students. Bands from various
colleges participated in band war, the most attractive
competition in the fest. As a mark of social commitment, a
blood donation camp was organized with the support of
Gokul Das Hospital, Indore.
More than 75 college from 6 states participated in this
mega event. CDGI was declared the winner. BMIT, JAIPUR
and BIT, DURG were the joint runner up teams. In tune with
the policy of the event, the rolling trophy was awarded
jointly to BMIT, JAIPUR and BIT, Durg.

ROLLING TROPHY
This Mega event at national level is to attract the best
talent in the field of Robotics, Mechanical Engineering
Events, Management Events, Projects, National Quiz and
lots of Creativity and Entertainment Events.The total
cash prizes to be given away for all the events will
amount to about
` 10 Lakhs. The winning team will be awarded a cash
prize of Rs.1 Lakh along with an attractive rolling trophy.

CITRONICS - 2015
We have completed four editions of CITRONICS from 2009
to 2014, with unique features every year. During the forth
coming year (2014-2015) we have planned to conduct this
mega techno-management event at the National level. We
have planned for about 24 events along with some cultural
and entertainment events. A unique feature planned for
CITRONICS-2015 is to have events in the name of event
associates where in the event can be designed as per the
requirement of associating organization without affecting
the rules of CDGI, Indore.

I.

Robotics: There are nine events under this category:


1.

Robo War: Design a machine (manual control) which is capable to fight with opponent
in the arena. And the destruction is the only way to show the power, here the bot who
show the power will be king of the arena.

2.

Robo Race: Design a wired/wireless machine which is capable of the race on the track
and complete the path in minimum time.

3.

Robo Swim: Design a machine (Manual Control) which is capable of swimming on the
water surface and complete the path in the minimum time. The machine should also
withstand heavy tidal waves and whirlpools. All types of propellers can be used.
Submarines and any other kind of underwater bots are NOT allowed.

4.

Robo Soccer: Design a machine(manual control) which is capable to play soccer as well
as to fight with the opponent. Here two bot are allowed, one is attacking which is
wired/wireless and other is defending which must be wired.

5.

Pick and Place: Design a machine(manual control) which is capable to lift the weight and
clear the track in minimum time. Both wired and wireless bots will be allowed.

without any manual support just like mouse that's why we called it is micro mouse.

II. MANAGEMENT EVENTS :


1.

FUNKY SELLING IDEAS : An act that defines creativity. Ad mad show provides you a
platform to showcase your creativity by designing some good ads and radio jingles .The
activity is a deliberate effort to mould our budding managers and give them a new
dimension to their ever evolving personalities, by challenging their minds to think big
and think innovative. This event is certainly for all the creative geniuses. Every business
endeavor targets a certain clientele and good advertising goes a long way in keeping
them interested. Ad Mad show is an event for all those who have the ability to cast a spell
on prospective buyers.

2.

Structure Design : Candidates ask to produce a structure made out of ice-cream sticks
and then the structure withstand the announced weight wins a prize.

III. PROJECT EVENTS :


1.

HARDWARE PROJECT: Open source hardware (OH) consists of physical artifacts of


technology designed and offered in the same manner as free and open source software
(FOSS). Open source hardware is part of the open source culture movement and applies
this concept to a variety of components. The term usually means that information
about the hardware is easily understood. Hardware design in addition to the software
that drives the hardware are all released with the FOSS approach. A team consisting of
maximum 3 participants has to prepare a hardware and a pre event abstract in a
standard format that will be screened by an expert committee. Participants who qualify
in the screening round, based on their abstract shall be invited to participate in the final
round. The participants have to bring the project along with a hard copy of their project
details.

SOFTWARE PROJECT : This event is all about the code which you can develop, to enhance
your programming skills and show us how farther you can go in this direction.

3.

ELECTRONIC JUNKYARD : Implement a hardware by using creativity and your innovative


skills in electronics. Design an electronic circuit with the help of given components and
try to implement your circuit.

IV. MACHANICAL EVENTS: There are four events under this category:
1.

CYCLE DOCTOR : Do you really think you can become a Mechanical or Automobile
Engineer? In that case let's check out your basics. Let's check whether you are engineers
by choice or by compulsion. How much you know about one of the oldest and your first
mechanical machine. In this, participants have to prove that they have started their
preparation to become an engineer right from their childhood days.

2.

AUTO JUNKIES : In this event participants should have good knowledge of automobile
parts (their appearance, assemblies, working etc.).

3.

CADD CHAMPIONSHIP

V. CREATIVITY: There are SIX events under this category:


1.

Photography: This segment includes photographs representing the scenario based on


the theme.

PAPER DRESS/CHOCOLATE DRESS.

VII. NATIONAL QUIZ:


1.

NATIONAL QUIZ : It is designed to assess key points related to general knowledge and
grasping skills of upcoming engineering and management students who are the future
enterpreneurs and professionals in their respective domains. The contest is designed
to suit national level competition and will investigate the aptitude of the participants
coming from all over the country.

VIII. SPOT EVENTS :


1.

VIRTUAL TREASURE HUNT : The Virtual Treasure Hunt is an exciting game of mystery,
ciphers and clues leading to a treasure. Although played in a virtual world, the contest
will benefit students in a tangible way. While anyone can play and receive a Treasure
Hunt certificate for completing the contest, Go on an adventure that takes you on a trail
of clues that lead you to some fun and exciting locations.... but on the Web only!

2.

WEB CORP : In Web Corp, participants will be given some content (text) and objects
(graphics, photos, audio, video) to integrate into their design and/or the opportunity to
create or download content/objects they feel more appropriate. There is some time
limit for the creation. You can use either the raw materials given by us or you can use
existing poorly designed website for recreation.
