INTRODUCTION

This report tells us about the existing problems in the industry that have serious impact on the
production, quality, turnover, safety to the workers. We had done a full analysis of industry in
the last 15 days and highlighted the problem which have serious effect. It is necessary to
identify the elements of problem in the industry, by eliminating them we can make the best
use of human resource, increase the turnover, increases the production rate increases the
quality of products, lower the costs and make them long lasting or durable.
By eliminating these problems we can make the industry reach to new heights. In this report
we had identified the problems by taking in the mental picture of the industry in the ideal
case where production rate, turnover, quality are fully optimized. After taking into account
the ideal case we have identified what are the problems that are to be eliminated to make the
industry reach those ideal heights.
Lets move further in our problem exploration and see what are the problems existing in the
industry economic system.

PRESENT INVESTIGATION REPORT (15 DAYS)

In this report we have identified the problems which affects the economy of the industry. We
have worked and find out various problems and one is that the way the workers perform their
task is an inefficient use of time and resources.
The industry should work as to get each order quickly and efficiently so that orders can be
completed as soon as possible and the new orders can be arrived on the completion of
previous orders due to which it will build up the reputation of the industry and hence its
growth will be faster. The process for manufacturing of items should be optimized for time
efficiency and quality efficiency which in later stages will make the economy of industry to
go up.
But unfortunately things are not working in the right manner as is directed by the ideal
system which results in the low time and quality efficiency system, which is prevalent in the
todays situation. The inefficiency of the current system represents a significant production
and financial burden for the company. The problems as we have studied which company is
facing today is given below with the details.
1. Low turnover of the industry Industry is facing financial crisis from last year due to
which it cant produce much and wages and salaries of workers are also delayed sometimes.
This situation might be due to low production rate, completing an order in more than the time
given, low quality of boards etc.
2. Low production rate and order takes much time to finish Industry has low production
rate due to which it takes longer time to complete the orders. If longer times taken for the
order completion than it would make the reputation of company go down and subsequently it
would produce less orders and which make financial crisis a myriad problem in the industry,
which subsequently decreases the annual turnover.
3. No proper storage of machineries and items This is another big problem facing the
industry. There is no separate warehouse for storing of raw material and the manufactured
items, which creates less space due to which there is problem in movement of workers,
handling the parts, storing of new parts if the space is not available, no space for new

machines to be placed in industry. Below is a picture showing the storage conditions in the
industry.

4. Problem in fitting - a major problem is fitting of parts with screws. The screws doesnt fit
into the thread hole of box or the part.
5. Fitting of parts takes more time The fitting takes more time as it is done manually.I f it
is done by automatic screwdrivers there will be more time saved.
6. High cost of production This is part of problem of low turnover, low turnover may be
caused due to high cost of production such as costly material, unifunctional dies, more
electricity consumed, high inventory maintenance etc.

7. Difference in the quality of parts A low turnover of the industry may also be due to low
or different quality of different parts, like some operations are done with help of labor so
there is discrepancy in the parts which results in the quality failure.
8. Inventory maintenance due to negligence some extra parts are produced and thus it
results in inventory maintenance. For e.g. 210 inner parts are produces in a day, 200 outer is
produced on other day and 203 boxes are produces. After assembling we are left with10 inner
part and 3 boxes. This will make an increase in the inventory which will increase the
maintenance cost.
9. Problem to new workers in making the parts new workers cannot identify the
measurements of parts quickly and hence cannot make parts easily.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

In the fifteen days account we had identified all the problems that are affecting the industry in
some or the other way. These problems and difficulties hamper the growth of industry by low
production, low quality, more time consuming process, less storage space, unnecessary
expenditures etc. By removing these problems we can have a great way for the future of the
industry system and make it more fruitful to the population, the owner, the workers working
there and to the country.

CONCLUSIONS

In this session we had identified the myriad problems which the industry is facing today and
will obtain or design the ways to remove them and make the economy of the industry to
revive again. In the next report we will deal with the problems and methods of how to remove
them to make the industry more fruitful to the economy.
