Hi friends , I am Mahesh Gavandar from Government College of Engineering Aurangabad

pursuing MCA(2012). I have selected in TCS . I like to share my interview experience .

In our college TCS came at 11th and 12th September 2012. Total students appear 322 including
Engineering all branches and TCS has criteria those who has more than above 75% i.e.
throughout distinction from 10th onwards and 5 toppers of all braches they are directly appeared
for interview..
Total no. of students appeared - 322
Total no. of students directly interview - 192
Total no. of students appeared for aptitude test - 130
Total no. of students cracked aptitude - 42
Total no. of students selected 173
Rounds1 - Apptitude test 30 questions for 80 minutes
2 Technical interview (TR)
3 Managerial interview (MR)
4 - HR
I was directly appeared for interview. And TCS aptitude pattern totally change so be prepare for
aptitude test
I was totally nervous on that day but after going to interview my mind was totally changed..
I also did lot of preparation for interview
When my name was call for T.R. that time I was totally panic.. but I managed my self .

Which subjects have u learnt in ur academic?
c , c++ , java ,Data structure , DBMS.(he wrote all subject in blank paper)
(I was confident on these subject thats y I told only these subject)
I want to know all subject I will not ask u all the subjects..just I know about what u learnt.
Operating system(Linux), Networking, Software engineering, Software Testing , Mobile
Computing(He wrote all the subjects).
what about Microprocessor?
yes sir Microprocessor and also BSOS , Communication Skill , DAA.(I told all subjects)
what is DAA?
Design analysis and algorithm.(he wrote special in bracket on that paper)
Do u have theoretical paper for Communication Skill.
No sir only practical.
(Muze laga mera interview bahot tuff hone wala hai.. because he said ur are PG student I have
More expectation from u
(But I got the confidence on that time).

Why C and C++?

I:

I said it is basic language and every language based on these language.. I just want to show
That on basis of these language I can switch on any technology..because c++ use oops
concepts and these concepts use all leading language like java,.net ,PHP..
and c is basic of all language.
Difference between C and C++ ?
I told 10-12 difference and very small concepts like convergence syntax different one data
Type to another data type.. (he impressed..)
What is access specifiers?
Told.. and also told in c++ 3 access specifiers and in java 4 access specifiers use i.e.
default added..
Do u know java?
Yes sir.
What is Inheritance?
Told many things about inheritance.
You did java project i.e. Social networking site using JSP.
Yes sir..
Difference between servlet and JSP?
I told many things about servlet and JSP..
What is Interface?
Told. Many things about Interface.
What is Applet?
Told. Life cycle explained very well.
Do u know Data Structure?
Yes sir.

What is stack and Queue?

Yes sir.

Tell me any 5 SQL command.
Create ,Select ,Insert ,Delete ,Drop ,Truncate.
You know many command carry on..
Update , Alter, Create view , Rename.

What is DDL and DML?
Told Use, Types of both command.
Use of Alter command and update command

Tell me Difference between DELETE , DROP and TRUNCATE.
We did lot of discussion about it..
What Is Normalization?
Told Defination,benefits for Normalization..

In 2 project I used Water Fall model and social networking site project I used
Incremental model.
How many model u know?
Water fall model , spiral model , incremental model , prototype model..
What about OS, Do You Know?
Muze laga mera interview sab subject pe hone wala hai ..gaya Mahesh tu ab because I have not
prepared OS mene bola yes sir I know but
I know only basic concept about OS.. I have not brush up my knowledge..
What is Opearting System?
Told.
If we want which processes are running then which command we use in Linux?
PS.
You also learnt Microprocessor.
Yes sir.
Which Microprocessor?
8085 and 8086.
What is accumulator?
Sorry sir I am not sure but I think accumulator i.e. AX reg. use for 16 bit and AL reg.
Use for 8 bit to store value.
Which Old O.S. use now a day in industry?
UNIX
No ,U are very close try again..

Mainframe.
hamare class ki ladki ko bhi unone yahi pucha tha usne muze thoda mainframe k bare me
bataya tha.. Yes sir.
Do you know about mainframe?
Yes sir Mainframe use cobol. And it is more secure than c and c++.
C and C++ can hack but mainframe cannot hack

After Managerial round I feel very confident because both said me u are good I knew that

I cracked 2nd round Now HR round .. I was confident for HR round because I had given demo
HR interview in our class , My friends also conducted my HR interview I did preparation for
HR interviewBefore interview I wrote each question of HR interview with best answer in my
diary.. And I spoke daily in front of mirror thats y I had confident about HR..
