Please note that if a pharmacy is not enrolled in the PharmaCare Program,
any PharmaCare benefits purchased at that pharmacy cannot be covered by PharmaCare.

Under the Pharmaceutical Services Act and the Provider Regulation, a pharmacy must enroll as a provider in the
PharmaCare Program in order to submit claims to PharmaCare on behalf of B.C. residents.
Pursuant to Section 23(5)(b) of the Provider Regulation, if the Ministry of Health denies enrollment to a
pharmacy:
The Ministry will notify the pharmacy in writing of the denial of enrollment.
The pharmacy has 21 days to respond in writing.
If the pharmacy responds within the 21 days, the Minister of Health considers the response and confirms
or reverses the denial of enrollment.
If the pharmacy does not respond within 21 days, the pharmacy will not be enrolled.
The Minister notifies the pharmacy of the final decision in writing.
If the pharmacy is not enrolled as a PharmaCare provider, the pharmacy:
cannot submit claims to PharmaCare on behalf of B.C. residents.
If a B.C. resident purchases PharmaCare benefits from the pharmacy, the items will not be covered.
