Aaron Gabriel

Case Study

The Problem
One evening on or about September 27, 2007, there was a man
who was brutally shouting at the middle of the street holding a gun on
his hands and trying to end his life.

Aaron was undoubtedly drunk at that moment. He was being seen

by an old man walking on the street. The old man tried to talk to Aaron
but Aaron was violently pushing the old man away.

Aarons Life Story

Aaron Gabriel was born on November 24, 1946 and grew up
thinking his mother was his older sister and his grandparents his
biological parents. When Aarons mother remarried a cook by the name
Johnnie Bundy, the last name of Bundy would soon develop a chilling
reputation.
Aaron is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Cha Gabriel. When he was
twelve years old, the family moved to the city and rented a small house.
The father did not hesitate to work as Tricycle driver. He tried to make
both ends meet with a few pesos earned from his passengers fares. The
mother on the other hand was house keeper. Together with his elder
sister and brothers, Aaron studied in public school, a few block away
from their house. After classes, Aaron would find himself alone in the
house while his brother and his four sisters were busy making friends
with the other youngsters in the neighborhood. The parents began to take

notice of Aarons moods. He was quiet and irritable. He would stamp his
feet or throw things whenever his mother failed to grant his wishes. He
would refuse to run errands for his elder brother and sisters and would
quickly answer back when scolded. He started to become conscious of
his physical appearance and resent their property. With envy, he would
tell his mother of his classmates new toys or friends new shirt.
Aaron became quarrelsome and alcoholic. There was no trouble in
the neighborhood in which he was not involved. There was no time
when he did not look or smell drunk. He did not want to go to school
anymore. He spent most of his time playing cards with other notorious
boys in their place. His behavior worsened when the father, one year
after the death of his wife, brought home a woman whose reputation was
morally offensive. After two months, the woman ran away with other
man. The scandal did not stop the father from his amorous adventures.
He came home, one night, introducing a young woman to his children.

As a boy, Aaron was very shy and was teased by his classmates.
Although Aaron had an uneasy start, he maintained a high grade point
average throughout his school years. In 1980, Aaron graduated from
high school and won a scholarship to the University of the Philippines,
then later transferred to University of the East. As Aaron attended
college his main focus was on his schoolwork, but in the spring of 1980,
he became interested to girls.

Diagnosis
Lizel was a young beautiful girl from a wealthy family from
California. To Aaron she was everything he had ever wanted in a
woman. Not only was this Aarons first love, but also the first woman he
was sexually active with Aaron saw them together forever and was
infatuated with her, but Lizel felt otherwise. She wanted someone who
could fit into her lifestyle.
In 1980, shortly after Aaron had graduated from college, Lizel
broke off her relationship with Aaron. He became deeply depressed and
never recovered from the break-up. Ted wrote to Lizel many times,
trying to convince her he was right for her, but she turned him down.
Aaron was obsessed with Lizes Brooks and could not get her out of his
mind. Many believe this obsession was a key factor that led Aaron to
many of the gruesome crimes he would commit during his life.
To make the situation worse, in 1980 Aaron learned who his real
parents where. After gaining this information, Aarons character began to

change. He went from being shy and introverted to a more focused and
dominant character. Gabriel enrolled in the University of Washington
once again and studied psychology. He became one of the top student of
his class, was well liked by his professors, and was driven to achieve to
prove himself to the world, and more importantly, to Lizel.
