Access Control and Operation
History Management Package

General
Specications
GS 32Q04D30-31E

OVERVIEW

Access Control and Operation History Management Package is used to set the operation rights of engineers who
operate the safety engineering PC (SENG), as well as to record the operation history. This package is divided into
the Access Control function and Operation History Management function.
Access Control
This function is used to manage engineers who operate SENG and to set the operation rights for each engineer. It is
useful to prevent engineers from making unintended changes by performing a wrong operation; specically, to prevent
unauthorized engineers from manipulating project database and making unintended changes by performing a wrong
operation. This is effective for enhancing security.
Operation History Management
This function is used to record the operation history of software on SENG. It allows an engineer to view the operation
history; for example, who operated what, when, how, and why. The recorded operation history can be used for
engineer job handover, and troubleshooting and analysis.

User management: This is used to register engineers.

Logon/engineer authentication: This is used for SENG to authenticate engineers who start and operate builders
and tools to perform engineering.
Access control: This is used to set the operation rights for each engineer.
Operation history recording: This is used to save the operation history of changes made by the engineer (operation
logging) and information changed by the operation (saving modication les) to the operation history
database.
Operation history viewer function: This is used to view and print the operation log and modication les.

Specifying Access Rights

This function is used to specify the rights for engineers to operate the project database for each engineering
procedure category.
The following shows the main categories.
New project creation
Application logic change
Process data I/O addition, change, and deletion
Inter-SCS safety communication setting
Modbus communication function setting
Off-line download
Online change download
Test function
Diagnostic information message check

Objects of Operation History Recording

The operation history of the following two objects is recorded.
Operation log: This is information on operations performed by the engineer.
Modication les:This is information in the project database that was changed as a result of the operation of the
engineer. The le is saved at the time when download operation is performed on the safety control
station (SCS).

OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
Hardware Requirements
Conforms to operating environment of CHS5100 Safety System Generation and Maintenance Package
100 GB or more of hard disk space for this package is recommended for a PC where the history management
database is placed. In addition, it is recommended to use an auxiliary storage device to back up the history
management database.

Software Requirements

Conforms to operating environment of CHS5100 Safety System Generation and Maintenance Package
SENG for performing the functions of this package:
CHS5170 Access Control and Operation History Management Package and CHS5100 Safety System
Generation and Maintenance Package are required.
PC or server for the operation history database:
CHS5170 Access Control and Operation History Management Package and CHS5100 Safety System
Generation and Maintenance Package are not required for a PC or server where only the operation history
database is stored. When four or more PCs (including the host PC) access the PC/server where the operation
history database is stored, use Windows Server OS on the PC/server where the operation history database is
stored. When integrated with CENTUM VP or CS 3000, and when Windows Server OS is not installed on the PC
where only the ProSafe-RS operation history database is stored, do not place the CENTUM VP and CS 3000
project databases there.
