Objectives
Know how to use the Photoshop using layers and blend two images.
Process
I cropped the background image to 8.511. I selected the universe picture and made it as
a background. Then overlapped the girl praying. I added a mask so that I can change the
color, make it transparent with black paint, and I blended the image, with a larger black
brush, into the background. I added dandelion picture over it and gave it a little bit of
effect. With a larger black brush, I blended with the background so that I can put the text
over it. Lastly, I added the text with glow effect and I used two different fonts.

Step 3 eat traditional Korean food

Objectives
Learn how to use Paragraph Styles to make a brochure.
Process
I had some research about Hanok (Korean Village) and some pictures. I also looked for
many brochures and gained some ideas from those. I found some cool background for
the brochure. I used many interesting pictures so it will catch eyes.
I made my logo in a different color and shape that would matches with the brochure. I
created the logo in Illustrator using the pen tool and shapes. I placed the left top and cut
the front so that it will be visible when I close the brochure.
I did Photoshop most of the pictures. I cropped some of the background of the pictures.
I selected the people and saved the image and refine the edges with the Photoshop. I
made white transparent boxes for the text so that it is more readable.

Try some traditional Korean food here!

You can try as wide variation of food
as you can. Typical Korean meal is
a bowl of rice, a bowl of soup, and
some side dishes. The best kind
that you can enjoy here is Bibimbop.
Bibimbop is Koreans one of favorite
foods. The word literally meaning is
mixed rice. You mix every vegetables
and meat with rice and spicy chill pepper
paste called gochujang. It is a healthy but
delicious food that you can have!

Step 1 Walk the village

Find the are that you can stand between
the tall building. Focus on the curved roof!
It has unique edges being slightly raised
to the sky. You can also notice that Hanok
has a lot of different patterns on the walls.
Come to Hanok Life Experience Hall to
experience traditional Korean life.

Step 2 look inside the village

Interesting thing about Hanok is that all the
hourses are heated with the
ondol system, which is a
unique sub-ooring heating
system. Koreans enjoy
sitting, eating, and sleeping
on the oor so it needs to
be heated. Ondol makes
house warm in the winter
and cool in the summer.
Dont miss the chance to
experience ondol today!

Objectives
Know hot to use the Photoshop and learn how to pick a specific font for the right theme.
Process
I took this picture and chose color scheme Salmon; I thought it will match with the color
of the flower. I used Photoshop to make this picture more live and bright. I designed
an 8.511 layout that includes picture and the text. Then I put color scheme title, color
swatches, and color names into my design. I used the eye dropper tool to make some
lines and transparent box on the left. I used the font that would match with the quote
and made it white so it can show purity.

Objectives
Learn basic skills of web page coding and design.
Process
I created this web page using TextWrangler and Sublime Text. I have started to learn
how to write HTML/CSS in CIT 160 class. It has been interesting to see how I can make
a web page with codes. I also have been using Photoshop for my logo.
After I had my HTML with my image in it, I made CSS style sheet to decorate my HTML.
I found color code for my logo that will matchI also used the eyedropper tool. I made
my fonts to Georgia and Times New Roman and Sans-serif font for my heading. I used
padding around the logo and text so it can have their own spaces without squishing.

document and placed my logo .ai file into this .indd document.
I put my logo on the left and put my information on the left side as well so that I can
create alignment and grouping. I placed my watermark on the bottom right side and
made it larger. I made my name and contact information 12pt but to contrast, I changed
the color of my name.

Objectives
Learn the importance of contrast and create a flier.
Process
I had four sketches before I create this flier with InDesign. I used my sketch as a guide
to create it. I used black box with white letters for color and scale contrast. I made
Leadership conference hollow, so that it is not all white letters on the top. I left white
space around the text and made my flier as symmetrical balance. It creates comfortable
mood.
