Resolution to Call for Open Applications for the Positions of

Buklod Atenista Ambassador and Buklod Atenista Trainees
A resolution calling for the open applications for the positions of the Buklod Atenista Ambassador and the Buklod Atenista
Trainees to the general constituency of the Sanggunian.

Whereas, the Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila is founded on the
principles of representation, participatory democracy, accountability, decentralization, consultation, and efficient
and effective service towards the holistic formation of the Atenean;1
Whereas, the Sanggunian is the official representative of the student body recognized by the Loyola Schools, and
shall have the right to determine its own policies and programs on matters within its jurisdiction;2
Whereas, the Sanggunian is tasked with representing itself to the Buklod Atenista;3
Whereas, the Sanggunian is tasked with sending delegates to Buklod Atenista assemblies with the objectives of
discussing pertinent issues within and beyond the Buklod network, deliberating and approving proposed
resolutions and common action plans for the school year, and exchanging of ideas and strategies for effective
and meaningful service for the Ateneo student body;4
Whereas, the incumbent ADMU Buklod Atenista Ambassador, Camille Joy L. Leong, shall be leaving her office
before this years Buklod Atenista midyear assembly;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes the need for the incumbent Ambassador to be immediately succeeded by a
new representative as soon as her resignation takes effect;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes the need for trainees for the appointment of succeeding Ambassadors, and
for the continuity of the representation of the Sanggunian to the Buklod Atenista;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes the right of the general constituency to participate in programs and affairs
that concern them as stakeholders of the student body;
Wherefore, be it resolved that the Sanggunian shall call for open applications for the positions of Buklod
Atenista Ambassador and Buklod Atenista Trainees to the general constituency of the Sanggunian;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that an applicant shall only be eligible if he/she is a non-graduating student, in
good academic standing (i.e. not in academic probation, meet the minimum quality point index requirement for
his/her year level etc.), and is not a president (or any similar equivalent) of any student group in the Loyola
Schools;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the applicants shall be required to submit their curriculum vitae and other
credentials and shall be interviewed by the Central Board;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the imposition of other guidelines for the application process shall be

upon the discretion of the Central Board;

Wherefore, be it further resolved that the incumbent Buklod Atenista Ambassador shall have access to the whole
application process as well as all relevant files and information, and shall confer recommendations for the
positions to the Central Board;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the Central Board shall deliberate and create a shortlist from the applicants
that are most eligible for the positions;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the appointment of the succeeding Buklod Atenista Ambassador, selected
from the shortlist of applicants, shall be upon the discretion of the Central Board;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the appointment of three (3) Buklod Atenista Trainees, selected from the
shortlist of applicants, shall be upon the discretion of the Central Board;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the Central Board shall be reserved the right to appoint officers for these
positions in the events that no students apply for the positions or the Central Board deems that no applicant is
fit for the positions;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the Central Board shall announce the appointments on or before the
Saturday of the first week of classes of the 1st Semester of SY 2015-2016;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that once the succeeding Ambassador and Trainees have been appointed, they
shall be bound to their duties indefinitely;
Wherefore, be it finally resolved that, with the approval of the Central Board by a simple majority vote, this
resolution shall take effect immediately.
