weight, compact low pressure fans designed for

universal installation in marine systems.
Type CNA is available in nine sizes with impeller
diameters from 250 mm to 1000 mm, air volumes
from 0.2 m3/s to 14 m3/s and total pressure up to
approx. 1000 Pa.
Type CNB is available in seven sizes with impeller diameters from 400 to 1000 mm and is designed for higher speeds with air volumes from
0.8 m3/s up to 18 m3/s and a total pressure up to
1500 Pa.
Both CNA and CNB comprise the following main
components:
Fan Casing
Fan casing made up of two rectangular side plates
and a scroll plate.
Centrifugal Fan Type CNA/B

Inlet Cone
Inlet cone fitted in the front side plate of the fan
with boss for duct connection. The inlet cone is
specially designed to guide the air to the impeller
without loss in pressure.

All fan parts are protected against ordinary atmospheric corrosion.

Impeller
The impeller is with broad, backward curved
blades.

Accessories
Motor
The motor is according to specification.

Bearing Assembly
Bearing assembly with two dust and waterproof,
totally enclosed deep groove ball bearings in a
flange bearing casing, mounted on the rear side
plate of the fan or two flange bearings mounted in
two covers.

Motor Mounting
For mounting of motors not exceeding the sizes
stated on page 561 for the flanges of the fan casing. The mounting plate is adjustable for tensioning of the belts.
Base Frame
Common base frame for mounting of motors
larger than the sizes stated on page 561 beside the
fan.

Low-Mounted Bracket for Large Motors

Large motors are mounted on low motor brackets
that are bolted to the fan housing. The low centre
of gravity and the large distances between the installation points give a stable installation for large
motors.
The required motor and fan positions are shown
to the right.

Centrifugal fans type CMP are single-inlet, light

and compact medium pressure fans designed for
installation in aggressive environments.
The multi-blade impeller and the casing are both
made from sheet steel.

Surface Treatment and Material

The CMP fans are made of sheet steel with impeller blades of galvanised sheet steel. Optionally the
fans can also be delivered in stainless steel.

The fans are available as single or two-speed versions in five sizes. Impeller diameters are from

The CAL has 8 blades. The CNA and CNB each

have 12 blades. The CND and CNF each have 8
blades.
Example
A centrifugal fan type CNA-315 delivers 0.6 m3/s
against 300 Pa at 1400 r.p.m. This gives a blade
frequency of 280 Hz (= 12 x 1400 / 60). From the
charts beginning on page 565 the total sound
power level is found to be 85 dB. The correction
value for 250 Hz is 4 dB. See the table below.
Hence, the sound power level of this octave band
is 85 dB 4 dB = 81 dB. The complete octave band

requirements for air volume is changing constantly. It is also used in systems where the air
volume must remain constant regardless of outside pressure conditions.
The inlet vane control can be operated by a servomotor controlled by a pressurestat or a flow sensor.
At reduced flow control the fan efficiency drops
as indicated on the performance chart. In case of
large variations in air volume it is therefore recommended to combine the inlet vane control with
pole changing.
