realize that there are many, many people that did so much
to make this dream a reality and for that we are extremely thankful.
Look for the momentum of the Millburn High School
baseball program to continue in the right direction.
We are optimistic entering every season because we
are blessed to have quality coaches at the junior varsity
and freshman level and they consistently produce and
prepare players for our varsity program, Chapman said.
We are also the beneficiary of the great work being done
by Millburn Short Hills Youth Baseball, which is one of
the strongest in-town baseball programs in the country.
We graduate six very important seniors this year and
we are hoping that the 15 returning players with varsity
experience will serve as the core of next year's team as we
strive to reach our goals.
In the state championship win over Williamstown,
Kevin Czapelski was the winning pitcher. Nick Minter,
Max Birner and John Serruto all had doubles in the game.
Ryan Adelman and Birner each recorded two RBIs. Jack
Schwartz (two), Jordan Brisgel, Max Jacobs, Richie
Schiekofer and Birner all had stolen bases. Brian Lannino
had the shutout win on the mound for Millburn in the victory over Randolph. Czapelski had two hits and two
stolen bases versus Randolph. Michael Garawitz, Brisgel
and Minter had RBIs for the Millers in the 3-1 win over
Ridge. Czapelski was the winning pitcher.

xcellence is a word that is not very difficult to pronounce or for that matter spell, but achieving true
excellence is an entirely different proposition all
together. It happens through attributes such as hard work,
dedication, an attention to detail, the ability to learn for
errors and the willingness to persevere when there are
bumps in the road.
This spring, the Millburn High School baseball program was excellent as they earned the NJSIAA Group IV
State championship with a convincing 11-3 victory over
South Jersey Group IV Sectional champion
Williamstown on June 6 on the campus of Toms River
South High School. Millburn topped Randolph, the North
Section I Group IV champs, 4-0, in the State Group IV
semifinal round. The Millers won the North Section II
Group IV title with a 3-1 triumph over Ridge.
Millburn ultimately finished the season with an overall record of 26-6. Its important to note that the Millers
entered the North Section II Group IV bracket as the No.
5 seed. The Millers were 14-0 on their home field.
We try not to treat games differently, Millburn head
coach Brian Chapman said. You can't get too high or too
low in baseball and we try to get the kids to be consistent
in their daily approach. This particular team was able to
do that better than any team I've coached. They did an
excellent job of focusing on the present and what they

he 21st Century still carries the tradition of the summer hit movies at local theaters. New Jersey can be
proud of its renowned cinema heritage as the foremost movie production location that created the first outdoor
action adventure movies. The seeds of the movie industry
were planted in the last decades of the 19th Century with its
original landmark footprints in New Jersey. It all started in
1888 when Eadweard Muybridge, a world famous photographer stopped by Edisons lab in West Orange to meet with
him to show off his zoopraxiscope. It was a machine that
projected images from rotating glass disks in rapid succession to give the impression of motion. Muybridge wanted to
partner Edison's phonograph invention with his
"Zoopraxiscope" to combine sight with sound. Edison was
more fascinated with Muybridges moving image concept
than he was with his animation machine. Edison decided to
venture into the moving picture business with his own innovations and gave the research and development project to his
employee William K.L. Dickson. Dickson an English engineer often pleaded with Edison to approve experiments for
moving pictures. Edison had little interest in these motion
pictures ideas Dickson presented but, that soon changed
after his meeting with Muybridge. The result was the
Kinetograph camera and the Kinetoscope viewer both
patented in 1891. By December 1892, the first motion picture studio was erected in West Orange NJ. Movies were

IMPLANT DENTISTRY
For over twenty years, implant dentistry has been a reliable option for patients
with missing teeth. With the ability to support a crown, an implant procedure
has the capacity to bypass drilling the adjacent teeth. Additionally, with the
recent availability of mini implants, implant dentistry has expanded its utilization to anchoring both full and partial dentures for a more secure fit. As they
provide an economic alternative, patients have been very receptive of mini
implants, as they make eating and speaking with dentures much easier.
Dr. Helen Chiu has always been involved in implant dentistry, making it an
integrated part of her everyday practice. From replacing a single tooth, inserting crowns or bridges, securing dentures, to creating multiple, full-arch reconstructions, she performs every step of each process, surgical and restorative.
Your comfort and convenience are always Dr. Chius top priorities. To
learn more about these procedures, please call our office at 973-377-0224.
We are always happy to answer any questions you may have. To receive a

oing on a trip, whether business or pleasure,
can be stressful especially if it involves driving
to the airport, deciding where to park in crowded lots, remembering where the car is parked, getting
the luggage out of the vehicle and then finding the
means to get to the gate in time for a flight.
A lot of these concerns can be avoided for those drivers who choose Vista Parking for their off-site parking
destination. Located directly across Newark Liberty
International Airport, customers can park their car valet
style in a secure 24-hour access lot before they even get
to the busy airport and then receive car-door to airportdoor service any time of day without any wait.
Family operated and owned since 1988, Vista
Parking has been providing the most convenient means
of off-site parking for travelers who use Newark
Airport.
The service at Vista Parking is much more convenient than long-term because its a door to door service,
says the company president. Customers are immediately greeted by a van; theres no waiting for shuttles, not

ineteen years ago, at the age of six,
Carlos Raymond Saavedra of
Wayne was diagnosed with cancer
and told he would have less than four
months to live.
When he was sent to St. Judes Childrens
Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. to
undergo experimental treatment, along with
seven other children, he beat the odds and
was the lone survivor.
To honor Carlos and his survival against
medulloblastoma, a cancerous tumor found
in the brain stem, his family set up a foundation- The Carlos Raymond Saavedra
Foundation (C.R.S.)- in his name to support
St. Judes, cancer victims and their families.
The foundations annual golf outing
fundraiser raises thousands of dollars for
this cause.
The Fifth Annual Carlos Raymond
Saavedra Foundation Golf Outing is set for
Wed., Sept. 23, at the Preakness Valley Golf
Course in Wayne. Shot gun start is at 9:30
a.m.; dinner, drinks and silent auction will
continue at 5 p.m. at the Carriage House.
Prizes will be awarded in different areas
